Eaton Corporation Should Cost-Project Lead in Pimpri Pune, India

  • Participate / Lead fact-based negotiations with global suppliers using should cost models

  • Collaborate with global category teams to drive strategic portfolio negotiations

  • Leverage should cost models for negotiating the best deal for enterprise with respect to “Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)”

  • Provides inputs as and when required for category managers during negotiations

  • Ensure projects meet the goal with respect to cost, time & quality with respect to should cost model

  • Follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely value capture in Cost Out Database (CODB) tool.

  • Train Eaton’s Supply Chain professionals on negotiations leveraging should cost models

  • Feedback to should cost COE on lessons learnt during negotiations to improve the should cost models

  • Promote should cost based negotiations globally via success stories, white papers & case studies

Coordinate between the Should cost and the commodity teams for improving the negotiation effectiveness and incorporating the learning.




Describe any specialized knowledge or skill (e.g., technical, scientific, administrative, managerial) which your position requires.

§ Bachelor’s in Engineering from a premier institute with 10+ years of experience OR Masters from a reputed institute with 8+ years of experience

§ Should be a manufacturing engineer or a process planning expert in at least couple of key categories. (Castings, PCB/As, Stampings, Forgings, Machining, Plastics, Wire Harness)

§ Should be a professionally trained negotiator.

§ Should have led negotiations with global suppliers using should cost models

§ Should have worked with global suppliers with multi-million dollar spend for multiple categories (at least 2 categories)

§ Culturally agile for negotiating with global suppliers and work with global category managers

§ Up to date with advances in manufacturing technology; exposure to latest processes and technologies like Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) is preferred

§ Expertise on product and process costing

§ Should have worked in analyzing Total Cost of Ownership of products.

§ Knowledge of statistical tools like Regression analysis etc. for target costing

§ Should be able to use analytical tools to identify cost out opportunities from spend & engineering data

§ 25% travel required within India, North America & EMEA

§ Should be performing should cost analysis during available bandwidth
