The Healthcare Market Division (HMD) offers a broad array of consumables, diagnostic kits, and reagents, equipment, instruments, solutions and services for hospitals, clinical laboratories, reference laboratories, physicians’ offices and other clinical testing facilities. These products are manufactured by Thermo Fisher and third parties. The division manages over 22,000 active customer accounts, 80,000 products, 2900 suppliers, 13 distribution centers and 3 customer service locations generating over $1B in revenues.

Position Summary

The person in this role will play a crucial role in the life cycle of sales tools, analytics, process automation, data integrity, and Relational Database Management (RDBM). Candidate must feel comfortable in communicating with all levels within the organization and working with both IT and business partners on a daily basis. Candidate must also be analytical, technically inclined, detailed & results-oriented, organized and comfortable working in a team environment to ensure precise and accurate deliverables.

Process Automation, Relational Database Management, and Data Integrity involves automating of repeatable processes through technology, creating and retiring databases, user administration, automated process monitoring, Data Integrity validation for completeness and matching of source data

Key Responsibilities

Analytical activities will involve data procurement and mining to exploit patterns in identifying risks and opportunities in customer buying patterns and gaps used for retention and cross-sell, tool utilization, adoption, and effectiveness through usage.

  • Experience with software lifecycle development

  • Experience in requirements definition and documentation

  • Comfortable in working with IT and business sponsors to ensure technical solutions meet business needs

  • Analytical experience in working with large data sets and mining

  • Experience in programming transact SQL

  • Support sales reporting tools, including development, enhancements, and end-user adoption

  • Effective and proactive communicator

  • Comfortable in training and presenting

  • Demonstrates commitment to total quality and the process of continuous improvement

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of experience involving project management of software lifecycle development

  • Experience with relational databases

  • Experienced in process automation utilizing queries, stored procedures, and job scheduling

  • Experience with Data Querying Tools such as Cognos, Power BI, SQL, or other relevant toolsets

  • Time management skills, ability to multitask, and propensity to handle urgent interruptions with poise and professionalism

  • Ability to manage self, including time and surrounding circumstances, to deliver both short term and long-term goals.

  • Excellent organizational/team work skills.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree or minor in related technical field

  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server preferred)

  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools

  • Experience defining and documenting system/process requirements

  • Good project management skills
