Perform the varied activities associated with product sourcing and order creation for items ordered via the website’s Integrated WebReq. Responsible for creating and maintaining content including Long Descriptions, Images, and Product Titles. Update and enhance current Encompass Third Party product descriptions by working with suppliers and internal partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the varied activities associated with product sourcing and order creation for items ordered via the website’s Integrated WebReq and Fisher Scientific Mainframe.

  • Create new supplier and product records.

  • Provide accurate pricing and product availability.

  • Interface with end users for problem resolution.

  • Work closely with customers and Encompass Third Party purchasing to ensure the customer’s expected level of service.

  • Negotiate discounts with suppliers, either for specific orders or across-the-board discounts.

  • Create/maintain customer specific pricing as required.

  • Utilize Service Now to assign content feedback form tickets, resolve issues, and close tickets while maintaining communication with the end user

  • Add new suppliers to using the New Item template and upload necessary information when complete.

  • Manage product details for Encompass Third Party items (Long Descriptions, Images, and Product Titles).

  • Long Description maintenance includes daily activities of adding 1,000 character descriptions to on Encompass Third Party items that only have 30 character descriptions. The Long Descriptions are obtained through direct supplier contact, requests received from others throughout Thermo Fisher, New Item Forms, Encompass Content Feedback Forms, Procurement New Item Forms and supplier websites.

  • Obtain and QC images using supplier websites and direct contact with the supplier.

  • Part maintenance including:

  • Update QSU/UU

  • Discontinue/Sub parts

  • Create VMA’s and VPA’s

  • Add Keywords

  • Duplicate part clean up

  • CCP code clean up

  • VMA clean up

  • Identify duplicate suppliers and consolidate into one while maintaining content

  • Maintain CAS and MDL chemical identifiers

  • Product lead time maintenance for part updates and requests

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience with data analysis, purchasing or related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and a High School diploma or GED.

  • Experience in customer service.

  • Knowledge of multi-functional systems for specific customer requirements, including mainframe and web based applications.

  • Proficient computer skills with Excel and Access.

  • Combination of both selling and purchasing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills, including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and Cognos.

  • Strong customer service focus, including conflict management skills.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and tasks to meet designated deadlines.

  • Exceptional communication skills, including written, verbal and effective listening.

  • Excellent organization ability, analytical capacity and attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with management regarding project progress and deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to learn new technologies and self-train when appropriate.

  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts between parties with differing needs.
