Bank of America is looking to build out their Development capabilities in the Plano, TX, market.
Enterprise Role Overview:
Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions. These application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource. Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. May have responsibility for a project and project budget. May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants. Typically requires 5-7 years of experience.

Job Specific Description:
The Developer work side by side with business partners to ensure expected quality software is build to serve our customers and clients. They will be responsible for understanding the business requirements, Build/enhance application components to support the requirement, enabling testing organization to certify the application, Support technology infrastucture team in production deployment and transitioning to support team.The Developer is expected to learn the business and technical components of an application and Work with their peers to follow enterprise software develpoment methodologies.Grow your career in our dynamic and fast paced environment of diverse software platforms and challenging projects that shape the future of the banking industry.

Primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain relational solutions that will satisfy a wide range of business critical needs. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Work under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants or managers.
• Leveraging technology at hand to gather data and conduct analysis to help drive our information based strategy
• Extracting and analyzing data from existing data stores and performing ad-hoc queries against warehouse environments such as Teradata, DB2.
• Learn and apply technology to effectively deliver information to the business.
• Contributing to the full life cycle of projects: driving to insightful analyses and achieving results
• Collaborating across business units on cross-functional teams
• Assisting in the design, coding and implementation of new production and data storage systems
• Driving operational efficiencies and effectiveness improvements
Required Skills (Must have these skills to be minimally qualified):
- Must have 5+ years hands on technical experience in Teradata with the ability to write complex SQL primarily for ETL processes.
- Must have 2+ years of experience in developing BTEQ and Teradata Load Utilities (MLOAD, FASTLOAD, etc.,)
- Experience with Teradata Physical Database Design, Development & Tuning.
- Knowledgeable in SQL/SAS coding
- Experience in Autosys tool and processes
Ability to write dynamic scripts for automation
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Extensive knowledge of database design and tuning
- Experience in ETL development and data analysis & management
Quick learner and self starter who requires minimal supervision to excel in a dynamic environment
Strong Written and verbal communication skills
This role will grow with the organization and ultimately become the SME and "Go To" person. Make sure you communicate your interest in long term commitment with Bank of America and your willingness and ability to perform any task required.
Prior experience with BAC on Knowledge of compliance activity, AIT/APMT/BT Converge/ARM Automation/DR/FOSS, CRQ implementation during off hours and preparation for CRQ Scripting/getting approvals.
Prior knowledge on DB2 is a plus
Able to identify risks and mitigation
Comfortable working in a matrix environment
Prior experience of working with globally distributed teams
Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree
