Bank of America Teradata/Datastage Developer in Plano, Texas

Job Description:

Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions. These application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource. Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. May have responsibility for a project and project budget. May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants. Typically requires 5-7 years of experience.

As development leader, is responsible for Teradata/Datastage application development, maintenance, working with Service Delivery Architects, collaborate with other domain specific application, infrastructure, or information team, System Design Engineers and technologists to complete deliverables.

Key Responsibilities are:

•Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications

•Provides technical direction to development staff on projects.

•Create/maintain design documents for any Teradata/Datastage changes

•Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies.

•Experience with tuning system for performance improvements

•Support during platform migrations, new functionality implementations

•Participate in rotation of Level 3 Support activities

•Supports best practices, platform usage standards and guidelines

•Strong SQL experience and ability to understand data models

•Ability to handle multiple and simultaneous activities and priorities.

•Ability to work across organizational units and to drive continuous process improvement

•Strong interpersonal/influence skills, proactive leadership skills and analytical and problem solving skills

•Excellent verbal/written communication skills

•Excellent planning and organizational skills

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years Datawarehouse design and development experience.

  • 7+ years experience with Teradata, including Teradata Tools and Utilities.

  • 6+ years development experience in IIS datastage ETL Software.

  • 5+ years working with Unix

  • 5+ years experience with Autosys scheduler

  • Strong SQL experience and ability to understand data models

  • Ability to handle multiple and simultaneous activities and priorities.

  • Ability to lead and organize the work of other developers

  • Ability to work across organizational units and to drive continuous process improvement

  • Strong interpersonal/influence skills, proactive leadership skills and analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Experience working in Onsite-Offshore Delivery Mode
