The central, pivotal and enabling capabilities the Oracle Cloud application space is built upon that of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM). For this particular role, we seek hands on technology leaders; with skillset combining being a “super-coder” with that of architect, one who has the depth and breadth of technical hands on experience to see across complex environments and technology stacks, and build/code/test solutions that span these environments and stacks. You will use leading technologies such as Java, Python, Restful (micro)services, Docker, etc., in a DevOps based, CI/CD, agile development environment. You will be expected to have development and technology experience with Cloud applications and operations, high performance database systems and have a detailed understanding of Compute, Storage, Network, and VM’s. You will play a major role changing the business world by implementing solutions that transform how Cloud applications are delivered and maintained.

Job Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in computer science or equivalent

  • 10-20 years of software engineering and technical leadership, with demonstrably proven results, in complex software system design and implementation in the Enterprise Cloud domain

  • Experience in hyper scale cloud implementations with proven track record in achieving extremely high SLAs for Performance, Scalability and Resiliency

  • Deep understanding of cloud design patterns, network topologies, and datacenter deployment architectures

  • As a DevOps practitioner, achieved measurable results like deployment frequency, reduced development to deployment time, rate of change, customer incidents etc.

  • Demonstrably delivering quality at the highest levels

  • Experience delivering within SDLC/Agile/Kanban processes

  • Ability to mentor and coach engineering workforce

  • High degree of competence in written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with Executive audiences.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Highly proficient “super-coder” with Java, API’s, Restful (micro)services, Python; Gradle, Docker and others are a major plus.

  • Proven experience designing scalable, reliable, super high quality solutions in hyper-scaled distributed systems.

  • Proven experience in test-driven development, with Jenkins experience a plus.

  • Experience working with Python, bash scripting, DevOps, CI/CD and agile models

  • Some experience working with high performance databases systems.

  • Detailed understanding of Compute, Storage, Network, VM’s, architectures.

  • Experience with lifecycle processes in the Cloud space

  • Ability to work in an extremely fast paced and challenging environment

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 more years of software engineering or related experience.
