Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Information Technology department is seeking an IT Software Developer supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems. Must be self-confident, assertive and self-motivated. The individual will plan, design and implement efficient IT and business system solutions for new product introductions and optimization of manufacturing operations.
What will you do?
Maintain and enhance MES systems in a manufacturing environment utilizing .Net and other development platforms
Support the development of tools to improve the efficiency of the MES development team.
Provide analysis and support for production MES systems.
Support and develop the Global Manufacturing Systems Roadmap
Lead the adoption and standardization of software architecture, development tools and drive a continuous improvement culture
Act as a change agent and mentor to bring new technologies, techniques and principles for software engineering excellence
Partner with Manufacturing Operations in creating business value through new product introductions, productivity and process improvements
How will you get here?
BS Required (Computer Science, Information Systems), MS preferred
Background in planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining custom manufacturing systems
Min 3 years development experience with: VB.NET, HTML, XML, XSLT, Oracle SQL/PLSQL, SQL* Loader, Shell Scripting, Batch scripting.
Strong understanding of Oracle technologies (ODBC, Object Oriented database design, query optimization/tuning, PL/SQL
Strong understanding of development SDLC (preferably Iterative/Agile).
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; Attention to details is critical
Demonstrate thorough understanding and ability to use source control / configuration management tools.
Demonstrate understanding of QA / QC process and test methodologies
Experience with change management procedures.
Application/systems support experience
Experience with Camstar MES Development, Modeling, API, and User Interface development is a plus.
Experience with robotics interfaces and direct software control of robotics is a plus.
Experience with cloud technologies, especially Amazon’s AWS offerings, is a plus.
Exposure to ITIL incident management is a plus.
Life Science industry background is a plus.
Working knowledge of molecular biology, chemistry, and/or biology is a plus.
