Thermo Fisher Scientific Lead Calibration Technician - 1st Shift in Pleasanton, California

Job Description

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Support Calibration/PM activities for the site: schedule calibration services, issue asset ID numbers, add/change/deactivate equipment, update calibration/PM results, create Purchase Orders, manage vendors

  • Provide training on the calibration process

  • Filing / Archival of calibration records

  • Manage competing priorities with minimal supervision, while ensuring that activities adhere to written procedures and regulations

  • Effective collaboration with other functions, interfacing with service providers, records management and database entry

  • Provide excellent customer service to internal customer and provide timely and accurate reports and metrics

  • Support RUO and GMP manufacturing activities

  • Participate in projects to streamline calibration process

  • Revise calibration procedures as needed to meet internal and external requirements

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor degree or 3 years calibration management experience. A B.S. degree in biological sciences or chemistry is preferred.

  • Excellent organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills required.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment, and good judgment ensuring written procedures are followed.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Need to be detailed, accurate and organized.

  • ASQ certifications are a plus.

Working conditions:

  • Works primarily in an office environment, but may also require time in laboratory/manufacturing environments.

  • May require minimal local travel.
