Eaton Corporation NPI Engineer, Power Electronics in Pleasanton, California
Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an NPI Engineer (Power Electronics) to join our team. This position is based at our Pleasanton, CA facility. Relocation assistance is available for this role.
The NPI Engineer will interface with customers, marketing and technical teams to provide technical and application support on automotive industry. In this role, you will also design and develop the power electronics components as well as circuits and implement them to production.

In this function you will:
Interact with our automotive representative and strategic automotive customers and interpret their specifications to define product requirement for power electronics component and circuits design.
Provide technical solutions to customers developing power electronics circuits. Architect and design magnetic component & power electronics circuits meeting cost and quality target.
Perform engineering analysis and generate detailed design of component and system. Generate qualification plan and test protocol for component and system. Prepare and maintain the engineering documents and PPAP package.
Lead multifunctional team (design, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing) in global locations to implement power electronics component and circuits into production within budget and quality target.
Coordinate with customers on their qualification & production cycle and align the organization for qualification, production and delivery readiness.
Provide sustaining engineering on existing products supporting manufacturing and customer quality.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required.
Minimum 10 years of design and applications engineering experience.
Minimum 3 years of automotive industry experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, strongly preferred.
Experience with power magnetics design.
Application engineering experience is preferred.
Experience with APQP procedures.
Position Success Criteria:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in ANSYS / Maxwell simulations.
PCB design experience using Altium or Allegro.
Project management experience and DFSS belt.
Team player and strong motivator.
Ability to travel up to 25% domestic & international.
