Commodity Specialist CEE - Transport/ Projects & Small Parcels

Location: Czech Republic or Poland or Hungary or Romania

Primary function:

The project leader will act as whole EMEA regions small parcel commodity manager which has a spend of $20M and also looking for a person who has experience of successfully managing multi-site operations: 22 countries, 12 Eaton sites, will be responsible also for CEE sub region logistics operations which has an annual volume of $54M and who therefore has the ability to operate in a fast paced, customer oriented Logistics environment.

Also the person will work very close on the warehouse and transportation optimization projects for the CEE region. Here the incumbent must show also possess strong project management and team management experience, as these are consolidation or set up projects are very critical and high risk projects for the business.

Work with DC’s and sites in order to reduce their in- and outbound shipment frequencies, lead times, inventory levels and switch more to FTL. Find out freight consolidation opportunities with other Eaton sites in the sub region; i.e. for the same route and close location sites/destinations combine the shipments under FTL so achieve cost out %5 on freight and %3 on warehouse spend.

As the sub regional leader; for the inbound and outbound material flow’s she/he must initiate CI projects so the optimum material ways are created. The person must work together with the 3rd party logistics providers to find out the most economical and efficient ways for Eaton, must implement the industry new/benchmark solutions i.e. consolidations, intermodal ways, milk runs, alternative transportation modes.

The person must also engage his self in to the logistics provider’s network and choose the best provider, in the best area for Eaton, also the nominated providers must be evaluated quarterly on their performance rates vs their committed KPI’s any deviation must be strictly followed and mutually aligned action plans must be implement.

Follows leading and lagging logistics performing metrics for CEE sites / DC’s. Tracks, analyzes and communicates key performance metrics to drive cost out through our third party logistics providers. Develops standardized as well as tailored solutions to address plant needs.

The Small Parcel Commodity Manager will be responsible to manage Eaton’s parcel operations for EMEA region, it includes negotiating with the parcel providers and being the subject matter expert for all parcel related activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs parcel bids in order to get the lowest cost and highest service level from the 3rd party providers for the responsibility area CEE. Organizing quarterly QBR meetings with the existing providers in order to maintain the agreed service level, commitment, accountability and focus is in place also reviews the claim management issues.

  • Create the baseline, data base and understand the parcel model for the sub region, according to the current state and OFA’s (opportunity for advancement) design, implement applicable real life/benchmark solutions in to the parcel in- and outbound network.

  • Maintain billing compliance and support accounting with Parcel invoicing

  • Serve as subject matter expert for all Parcel related activities for the sub region. Embrace the culture of continuous improvement and implement CI solutions where it is necessary.

  • Ensure shipping compliance with all customers routing and international packing requirements are met.

  • Collaborate with internal business partners to complete cross functional business projects, implement standard work and deliver process improvements.

  • LSP Management: Communicates with 3PLs and carriers to direct and manage strategic partnership, as well as evaluate and report performances

  • Claim Management: Oversees claim status and seeks to minimize defects in operation, while maximizing customer satisfaction

  • Understands international Trade Management implication, incl tax, duty, customs tariff implications for global commodities.

  • Exposure to international distribution, including packaging labeling, export documentation, duties, regulatory approvals.


  • Broad knowledge of P&L, Balance Sheet, NPV/ROI, and foreign exchange is preferred.

  • Basic understanding of contract terms, including but not limited to Insurance and Indemnification, termination clauses, audit provisions, and federal laws applicable to the contract.

  • Demonstrated experience and success using Lean business practices

  • Experience with project management concepts, needs assessment and cost modeling

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics or equivalent work experience

  • Experience in a fast paced, high volume logistics environment

  • Knowledge of small parcel shipping and 3rd party logistics providers.

  • Detail oriented and possesses self-motivation and problem solving skills

  • Ability to benchmark and research latest industry related operational best practices, share with the stake holders and implement where it is needed

  • Project management experience
