Where you fit in

We are looking for a Commercial Analyst who will provide commercial inputs into the overall production excellence workstream towards achieving production volume and value targets in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. The successful candidate for the role will also represent Shell Trinidad and Tobago in routine external engagements with the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI), Joint Venture partners as well as other leading oil and energy operators in the country.

What the role is

As the successful candidate for the role, you will have the accountability of providing key commercial analysis and inputs required as well as monitoring ongoing production operations to optimize production and midstream sales and providing timely inputs to ensure that the organization develops and adopts the processes required to optimize hydrocarbon delivery.

Other accountabilities include:

  • Forecast analysis of production and value assumptions, production reporting.

  • Mitigating shortfall exposure through negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Analyzing commercial contracts to identify/propose current and future Upstream and Midstream optimization opportunities.

  • Pursuit and negotiation of commercial opportunities with partners, customers and producing assets to maximize production value.

  • Liaison with internal asset and functional commercial leads to ensure production and value targets are in line with the asset strategy.

  • Liaison with owners of the individual asset commercial chokes to remove them.

  • Ensure the commercial section of the Hydrocarbon Accounting Manual (HCAM) is in line with current best practice.

What we need from you

We are looking for a candidate with at least three (3) years of commercial experience with experience/sound understanding of Upstream and Midstream production operations, forecasting, gas supply arrangements, operational and reporting aspects of Production Sharing contracts and midstream supply contracts. Candidates with similar competencies and have worked or currently working in the Downstream commercial area are qualified for the role as well.

Qualifications also include:

  • Legal authorization to work in Trinidad and Tobago without sponsorship.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.

  • Advanced MS Excel modelling/ analytical/ quantitative skills (excluding programming). Appreciation of value and its drivers.

  • Stakeholder management and communication skills; and the ability to work under minimal supervision while managing daily interactions and priorities within a dynamic production environment setting.
