Oracle Cloud Engineering Specialist in Portland, Oregon

As a member of the Support organization, your focus is to deliver post-sales support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while serving as an advocate for customer needs. This involves resolving post-sales non-technical customer inquiries via phone and electronic means, as well as, technical questions regarding the use of and troubleshooting for our Electronic Support Services. A primary point of contact for customers, you are responsible for facilitating customer relationships with Support and providing advice and assistance to internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and escalated issues.

As an Advisory Systems Engineer, you are expected to be an expert member of the problem-solving/avoidance team and be highly skilled in solving extremely complex (often previously unknown), critical customer issues. Performing the assigned duties with a high level of autonomy and reporting to management on customer status and technical matters on a regular basis, you will be expected to work with very limited guidance from management. Further, the Advisory Systems Engineer is sought by customers and Oracle employees to provide expert technical advice.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Because of substantial customer interfacing, a demonstrated ability to work with customers on an independent basis with exceptional communication skills, while consistently achieving the absolute highest levels of customer satisfaction. Both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience 8 years related experience prior to taking this position. In addition, experience with Oracle*s core products, applications, and tools.

TheDatabase Cloud Engineering Architect is a hands-on role focused on assistingOracle customer implement best practices to maximize the value of OracleDatabase and Oracle Database Cloud services. This is a customer facing rolethat is accountable for the end-to-end customer cloud and on premise deploymentexperience - architectural design sessions, specific implementation projects and/orProofs of Concepts. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer facingroles and established success leading deep technical architecture andapplication design discussions with customers to drive Cloud Databasedeployments.

_Key Responsibilities_

Drivethe deployment of the customers Database workloads into Oracle Database CloudServices by providing deployment guidance, supporting development of thecustomers cloud adoption model, and providing appropriate recommendations toovercome blockers.

Providehands-on assistance to Oracle s Top Tier customers in design, implementationand rollout out Oracle Database and allied products to meet business needs

Accelerateconsumption in high potential customer accounts by providing deep Exadata, RAC,VPD, Golden Gate and Database technical expertise. Lead deployment of projects,Creation and delivery of technical content, with a dedicated focus on OracleDatabase cloud services, and lift and shift of customer databases from OnPremto Oracle Cloud and continuous synchronization with onPrem databases.

Inthis role one will engage with a wide cross section of internal and externalstakeholders development, support, Oracle consulting services, and third partypartners to drive Database Cloud adoption efforts.

_Desired Skills and Experience_

15 years of work experience in any combination of engineering, product managementand consulting with increasing responsibilities, with at least 5 years as an Exadata,RAC Architect.

Handson skills based on Oracle Exadata, RAC, RMAN backup and recovery, Active DataGuard, Snap clone, enterprise manager and MAA and Performance tuning and code level technical troubleshooting.

Knowledgeand understanding of all aspects of database tuning, software configuration,memory usage, data access, data manipulation, SQL, and physical storage.

Install,implement and use Enterprise Manager Grid Control for enterprise widedeployments

DevOpsSkills Terraform scripting, Chef/Puppet and Jenkins

Knowledgeof other databases like MySQL, Postgres, SqlServer preferred

Exposureto Oracle Applications - e-business suite, PeopleSoft Database installation andconfiguration experience - preferred.

Exposureto Oracle Middleware Experience weblogic server, coherence, SOA, IDMpreferred

Understandingof systems, network, storage and web technologies is a must. Knowledge and useof REST APIs a must.

Analysisof cloud strategies, design and development of tools for Oracle Databasedeployment in Oracle Public Cloud

5 years experience in design and implementation of Oracle database on Cloud.

Provenability in performing rapid assessments of clients internal technologylandscape and targeting use cases and deployment targets for Public Cloudtechnology.

Abilityto on-board seed systems onto Public Cloud and provide guidance in the platformevaluation.

BS/MS(MS preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
