Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Bio Medical, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge is required; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Minimum of 1 year experience servicing and repairing electrical and/or electronic equipment is required.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Experience in field service and/or sales support is preferred.
Proficiency in technical issue management is essential.
Solid working knowledge of electronics, personal computer hardware, and software and LAN concepts is necessary.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are vital.
Must have demonstrated decision making ability towards solving problems, while working under pressure and effectively communicate these solutions to co-workers and customers.
Understanding of business policies and practices is a plus.
Ability to use electronic test equipment is essential.
Must be a self-starter and when trained, will require minimal supervision High-degree of personal organization.
Must have demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task.
Must be able to work flexible hours; including occasional short notice overtime and weekend work.
Ability for air and automobile travel, including overnight travel and occasional short notice travel, within 24 hours notice is a must.
Must be able to cooperate and participate as an effective team member in creating a positive working environment.
Must be able to demonstrate positive corporate citizenship.
Ability to ensure professional and timely communication with all internal/external customers is desired.
Ability to recognize and adhere to established company and department policies and protocol.
Must be receptive to positive and constructive feedback as provided by management.
Must comply with all vendor credentialing requirements inclusive of, but not limited to, medical vaccinations, training requirements and policies.
Must also complete annual bloodborne pathogen training, operating room protocol training and obtain Hepatitis B vaccination or complete a signed declination form.

As a Field Service Engineer I working on the Field Service team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by providing our customers with the best support and repair solutions, assisting our field sales teams with installations and maintenance of equipment and contributing to the growth of the division. Duties will incude:
Performing new equipment installations, upgrades, post installation testing, troubleshooting and all other aspects of technical support for all endoscope, mechanical, electronic, video, computer, LAN and network products.
Providing new sales, sales demonstrations and/or trade show support.
Quoting and installing cabling projects that includes soldering, terminating and pulling cable.
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing the entire line of medical electronic, video, computer and network products on customer premises, at Olympus repair facilities, and when necessary via telephone.
Occasionally required to utilize a ladder for indoor work off the ground.
Providing pre-site inspection, preventative maintenance and customer care support.
Escalating support issues when customer satisfaction is jeopardized and report all product non-conformance and safety concerns.
Establishing and maintaining open lines of communication with key internal and external customers to remain current with support, repair and on-going issues (i.e. installations, upgrades, persistent problems).
Providing pre and post sales education and training support for all endoscope, reprocessor, electronic, video, computer and network products.
Creating and maintaining accurate service visit records and checklists to reflect equipment support and repair activities.
Documentation may include labor and travel reporting, parts consumption, problem summary text and checklist completion.
Maintaining all assigned assets in a neat and organized manner, including but not limited to company vehicle, laptop computer, cell phone, repair parts and tools.
Returning defective or unneeded material in a timely manner.
Ensuring chemicals and tools comply with expiration dates.
Employees will be required to be trained through structured corporate training programs, on the job training, study of Olympus marketing materials, sales brochures and available self-study programs.
Must attend/complete course for CompTIA NET+ certification within one year of hire.
Meeting all assigned targets and goals set by Corporate, Regional and Field Service Managers.
Performing all other duties as assigned.

The Field Service Engineer I is an entry level position for a new employee with minimal or no prior knowledge of Endoscopy, surgical products or the medical field. Under general guidance, the incumbent will learn the core competencies of the proper operation, maintenance and repair techniques for the current Olympus product line. With direction of the Manager and/or experienced Field Engineers, he/she will provide technical service & sales support for the entire Olympus medical product portfolio and build strong customer relationships to strengthen the Olympus brand. The incumbent will conduct service calls independently as skill set develops. When required, he/she will obtain the assistance of a more experienced engineer to solve problems in which he/she is not yet familiar. Theincumbent will possess and practice good teamwork, problem solving and customer service skills.
