An experienced consulting professional who has an understanding of solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes or technology designs within a product/technology family. Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices.

May act as the team lead on projects. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and configures detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.

5-7 years of experience relevant to this position including 2 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.

Summary of Position:

The Principal DesignConsultant (DC) is responsible for delivering quality clinical trial design,development and consultancy to our pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medicaldevice and CRO customers. They will provide support in terms of training, mentoringand consulting to the DC team and to the customer whilst continuing to workwith other departments to meet the customer requirements. They are expected totake a lead role in the review of design processes and in the roll-out of new andupgraded products.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Actas the design expert advising customers to ensure that the trial design meetsthe customer s requirements and utilises the full benefits and functionality ofInForm

  • Workas a high profile member of the project team to develop and maintain excellentcustomer relationships

  • Gatherand interpret customer requirements or study protocol and using Oracle s trialdesign software, translate these into design specifications

  • Workwith the study team and sales department to scope required effort, define timelinesand plan resourcing

  • Provideadvice and implement study design related changes throughout the trial life-cycle

  • Providetraining and mentoring support to new team members, including independentreview of design specifications

  • Supportsales department in demonstrations and other pre-sales activities

  • Providementoring support to customers/partners

  • Provideinput into and review new product requirement documentation and functionalspecifications to assess impact on the trial design team

  • Contributeto new product identification, roll-out and implementation

  • Participate in design consultancy activities,including the development and delivery of presentations, workshops, trainingand other customer service offerings

  • Assistthe design team in proactive engagement with other departments to resolveissues or provide assistance to the team

  • Demonstratethe ability and willingness to travel to customer sites, up to 25%


Competency Requirements:


  • Agood understanding of the clinical trial process, preferably from a clinical datamanagement perspective

  • Ableto review and interpret clinical trial documentation e.g. protocols

  • Abilityto work effectively in a fast-paced team and/or independent environment

  • Afamiliarity with database structures and the logic used in programminglanguages

  • Excellenteye for detail

  • Excellent communication skills including presenting,coaching, facilitating discussions and brainstorming

  • Innovativeand proactive approach to the design process

  • Abilityto manage and organise multiple tasks and project deliverables

  • Comprehensiveknowledge of internet technology and MS Office applications, to include Word,Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ademonstrated ability for training, includingcoaching andmentoring skills

  • Proventeam leadership skills, including direct line reporting

  • Excellentknowledge of departmental and company processes and procedures

  • Abilityto manage and resolve issues within and between departments

  • Experiencewith InForm and Oracle s trial design software in a customer facing role
