Thermo Fisher Scientific HR Generalist in Portsmouth, New Hampshire
This position plays a key role in providing core, common and consistent HR solutions to the Anatomical Pathology Division (APD) Portsmouth, NH site as well as the Healthcare Market Division (HMD) employee populations. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day Human Resource functions including: recruiting and selection, HR compliance, on-boarding, recordkeeping, employee relations, training and development, compensation, ADA issues and performance management, among others.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide HR solutions support, process knowledge, advice and consultation to line and site management
Support change management related to the implementation of organizational effectiveness solutions; may lead or be part of a project management team to drive Core, Common and Consistent HR solutions such as process improvement
Collaborate with HR Platforms/COE process experts to execute and implement large scale HR initiatives (i.e., roll out of annual programs, new programs, policies, etc.)
Conduct Employee Relations investigations as assigned
Assess and oversee staffing, work with management to ensure appropriate staffing levels, analyze data for attrition and staffing trends and makes recommendations for change, as appropriate; interface with staffing agencies as appropriate
Drive communication efforts through organization
Lead efforts around Performance Management and Development, including facilitating training sessions/work groups
May participate in Employee Activities Committee to promote positive employee morale
Perform other duties as assigned
BA/BS degree in HR or related field, Master’s degree in HR or Labor Relations and/or HR Certification preferred
Minimum 3 years of related experience in a HR Generalist role
Key skills and abilities include: coaching, influencing, facilitation, process development, analysis, presentation, time management, problem solving
Must possess strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite
Working knowledge of EEO, Federal & State employment laws, Worker’s Comp, STD, LTD and ADA issues
