The Anatomical Pathology Division (APD) offers a complete line of anatomical pathology instruments and consumables from specimen collection to diagnosis. Product reach is mainly to Pathology labs in a hospital setting, but also used in independent labs and the research and academia markets. APD`s collaborative team of employees are delivering critical answers and strive to provide Pathology labs a more efficient, safe and productive environment. The group has it’s headquarter in Kalamazoo MI, with manufacturing sites domestically in Kalamazoo, MI and Portsmouth, NH
How will you make an impact?
The individual selected for this position will provide technical applications support in our Slides and Specialty Glass business, focusing on the changing needs of our customers, as well as improved internal methodology for product quality assurance.
What will you do?
Supervise laboratory technicians including time and attendance, performance management, and objective prioritization
Support existing customers with applications and technical expertise
Assist engineering with product validation and process troubleshooting
Support quality engineering with performing root cause analysis of non-conformances
Evaluate, interpret and make decisions regarding test results utilizing detailed knowledge of Anatomical Pathology laboratory procedures and practices
Perform computerized data entry of all work performed and generate reports as required
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot delicate computerized laboratory equipment
Monitor and maintain laboratory operations and performance in compliance with safety and environmental regulations and other applicable requirements
Develop and evaluate laboratory methodologies, protocols and techniques, documenting and providing training as appropriate
How will you get here?
Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Biology or equivalent
HT or HTL ASCP registry or equivalent
Preferred minimum of 10 years experience in a laboratory setting with a preferred minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
Knowledge of ISO 13485 or FDA medical device regulations is helpful
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Self starter, disciplined problem solver with essential analytical skills
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Knowledge of and experience with proper application of laboratory operational standards
