DEPARTMENT: Nursing Administration


*1. Provides support to the nursing unit to promote efficiencies of timely throughput of patients through the continuum of care.

*2. Facilitates admissions of patients to the nursing unit, completes all admission screens in Meditech, initiating consults as needed including the discharge process. All patient teaching elements will be initiated to include: introduction to patient room (communication board, call bell, hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and patient safety practices i.e. patient scanning)

*3. Completes discharge process to include: Meditech documentation, medication reconciliation, and discharge teaching

*4. During times of increased bed capacity, ADT RN will go to transferring unit to receive report and assume care of the patient and facilitate transfer to the inpatient unit.

  1. Effectively communicates with patients, family members, and nursing teams on inpatient and outpatient units. Provides a detailed handoff to receiving nurse and ensures that any patient needs are addressed prior to leaving the room. Manages up the patient’s nurse during bedside report/handoff.

*6. Demonstrates competency and effective use of the Meditech nursing module; able to efficiently completes the admission/discharge screens.

*7. Demonstrates ICARE Values in patient, family, and staff interactions.

*8. As time permits during the shift, ADT RN will make discharge phone calls.


Required- 3 years current nursing experience

Preferred- Registered nurse with critical care experience


Required- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.

Preferred- BSN or related health degree. Maintenance of nursing certification


Required- Licensed RN in the State of New Hampshire or with a Compact State


BLS ACLS Preferred (or acquire within six months of hire)
