IT Principal Consultant, Cloud Operations

talented Cloud Operations Engineers with expert level experience in
supporting systems, built for use by Government customers, based on a
mix of Oracle and Open stack technologies.

responsible for the supporting large scale Cloud deployments and support
of internally developed services/applications.

part of Production Engineering & Operations, we consolidate and
simplify IT operations and applications instances across hosted services
in Oracle Cloud.
We partner with engineering teams to develop product modules to be offered as a service.
collaborate with product quality assurance team to run test cases and
to ensure high quality service after release of product versions.
team works with the best of the class next generation Oracle Fusion
technical-stack components such as Oracle Database 11g/12c, Oracle
WebLogic Server 11g, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Identity
management and Oracle Virtual machine etc.
team has excellent expertise in cutting-edge products and technologies
like Oracle Fusion applications, hosting products as Software as a
Service & Platform as a Service and supporting services in Oracle
Cloud computing infrastructure.
Operational ownership in the Cloud application support, configuration, and address escalated issues in timely manner.
Collaborate with other operational teams during Service outages,
capacity expansion, infrastructure maintenance as well as ensure
adherence to production deployment standards.
- Automate operational tasks/deployments, develop scalable solutions and participate in transition to algorithmic IT operations.
BS Computer Science or equivalent qualification
5 years of experience with: Oracle DBA OR Scripting (Perl/Shell/Python/Bash) OR WebLogic
Production support experience with Oracle 11g/12c database and
expertise with Oracle’s RAC, ASM and RMAN as a core DBA – nice to have
Experience supporting production environments on Unix/Linux platforms
Expert level experience in the deployment and support of infrastructure and applications
Technical skills and knowledge that extends across
Application/Server/Storage/Network technologies to troubleshoot and
provide system level guidance/solutions
Strong ability to solve operational problems, with ability to identify and automate common routines
Exposure to application server concepts and technologies like WebLogic, Tomcat, networking concepts is highly desirable
Willingness to learn new technologies
Preferred Additional Skills:
Good Knowledge on Incidents/Request and Change Management process
Experience in Disaster Recovery (DR)
Exposure to OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager)
Prior experience as a Cloud Operations Engineer or DevOps Engineer
Certification(s) in a Database administration in any distribution
Experience with automated service deployment tools
Strong focus on business outcomes
Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Work with Oracle's world class technology to develop, implement, and support Oracle's global infrastructure.
As a member of the IT organization, assist with the analyze of existing complex programs and formulate logic for new complex internal systems. Prepare flowcharting, perform coding, and test/debug programs. Develop conversion and system implementation plans. Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. BS or equivalent experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems.
