Thermo Fisher Scientific Manager, Cell Culture Process Development in Princeton, New Jersey

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of scientists that are typically assigned to a specific functional area; may manage subordinate Supervisors as well.

  • Investigates, creates, and validates new scientific methodologies on highly unique and complex projects.

  • Plans significant technical/scientific project activities to execute strategies and technical solutions that meet client needs and expectations through broad expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • With Bachelor’s degree, minimum of 12 years of experience related to pharmaceutical manufacturing, process, development or academic laboratory and that includes at least 5 years of relevant industry discipline experience. With Master’s degree, 10 years of experience related to pharmaceutical manufacturing, process, development or academic laboratory and that includes at least 4 years of relevant industry discipline experience. With PhD, at least 4 years of related industry discipline experience. Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Research and published papers

  • Leads high-level design of major experimental plans.

  • Conducts highly complex analyses to support process development. Works with Process Development and Manufacture groups to trouble-shoot process challenges.

  • Sets guidelines for recording of results and reviews documentation by others

  • Oversees preparation of protocols, reports, test methods, and SOPs.

  • Maintains and ensures safe laboratory environment and work practices.

  • Remains current in the field by review of relevant scientific literature and attendance at appropriate scientific seminars and conferences.

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's or PhD in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field .

Equivalency :

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
