The Program Scientist is a senior technical position requiring in-depth technical knowledge and the ability to create innovative new consumer products under the Church & Dwight brands. The primary responsibility is to identify and implement solutions related to materials & technologies to creatively solve complex, transformational research problems. The individual must demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects independently, collaborate and lead technical cross-functional teams.
Lead transformational, technically complex product development programs from conception through proof of principle. Includes leading technical cross-functional teams when needed.
Identify and implement new innovative ideas, methodologies, and technologies rooted in consumer needs.
Maintains an up-to-date knowledge on technical developments in the field of polymer and material sciences (technical literature, attending courses and conferences, peer contacts, etc.).
Identify and analyze emerging technology trends and conduct research studies to gain consumer insights.
Works proactively within a multi-disciplinary, high-performance team environment
Prepares technical reports and makes technical presentations to communicate key findings to technical, business and regulatory personnel.
Individual contributor or may supervise subordinates and provide coaching and mentoring where appropriate.
Ph D from an accredited institution in a relevant technical field preferably with 8 years of academic industrial experience preferred
BS/MS degree with a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience required
