Reporting to the Manager, Systems and Analytics, the Analyst, Systems and Analytics performs all database, planogram and replenishment system parameter setup, maintenance, and adjustments to assist Procurement Strategy and Procurement Operations with required technical analyses. Responsibilities include designing, programming, testing, implementing and training of end-users. The Analyst, Systems and Analytics collaborates with IT to analyze requirements, document, understand, change, improve, configure, and build applications and systems. The role includes managing reporting processes and providing the management team and Procurement Strategy and Procurement Operations with recommendations, analytics, business intelligence and timely decision-making information and metrics on service level, aged inventory, slow moving and obsolete products, as well as vendor performance. Additionally, the Analyst, Systems and Analytics is responsible for the deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement of technology solutions between suppliers and McKesson Canada. This includes identifying and executing opportunities to further improve information flow efficiency by developing, coordinating and implementing systems using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards and XML-based web solutions, performing business process analyses, identifying gaps, and implementing solutions to streamline procurement procedures utilizing standards and best practices for electronic connectivity.
Section A – Specific Responsibilities
System Development and Configuration (40%)
Is responsible for Procurement Operations databases, systems (including replenishment, service level, inventory, returns, product availability, and planogram) and reporting tools.
Develops and/or re-engineers databases and parameters to measure appropriate performance metrics, according to the consistency and targets desired.
Drives alignment of various systems that impact order suggestions and replenishment plans while collaborating with Information Technology.
Analyzes business, functional and technical requirements to choose, upgrade, develop or configure applications and systems.
Develops appropriate parameter configuration via economic order quantities (EOQ) to foster the optimal order suggestions and facilitate purchase order management.
Maintains roles and authorizations within the different systems and databases and documents all databases and applications developed.
Works closely with programmers, power users and other key stakeholders to maintain or improve existing systems and applications, and to build new designs.
Performs testing, troubleshooting and resolution of database and data issues.
Is responsible for detailed analyses and making recommendations on inventory levels/issues, communicating operational risks and providing recommendations for service and inventory options and initiatives to ensure KPIs stay in line with McKesson targets.
Provides procurement teams with decision-making information through consistent reporting, metrics and business intelligence (e. g. service levels, inventory turnover, capacity, conformity, and replacements/substitutes to mitigate loss or drive buy-side revenue) on procurement activities.
Analyzes optimal replenishment quantities/economic order quantity (EOQ) and makes recommendations to optimize.
Analyzes new items, new vendors, and new parameterizationto support product life cycle management (product selection, phase-in and phase-out).
Develops reports on customer returns, warehouse inventory damages and adjustments, as well as losses on returns.
Manages data related to vendor performance (global and local agreements) and communicates results in preparation for business reviews with vendors.
Measures inventory commitments and buys, overstocks, out-of-stocks, aged inventory, non-compliance, and general vendor performance and supports the realization of expected gains and return-on-capital.
Is responsible for providing meaningful insights to capitalize on manufacturer price changes, opportunity buys, inventory transfers, and provincial formulary changes.
Procurement Connectivity (15%)
Is responsible for supplier connectivity, including all electronic transactions and resolving supplier non-compliance issues and incidents.
Manages new listings setup to conform to connectivity requirements and standards and makes decisions on connectivity parameters.
Manages critical information such as EDI details, supplier profile specifications and parameters and makes decisions to accept or reject supplier setup proposals.
Ensures Inter-trade web portal data is current and is the primary point of contact for all EDI related issues (supplier side) as well as troubleshoots to resolve.
Resolves connectivity issues including communication failures; makes decisions regarding recovery and mitigation strategies to ensure flow of goods to avoid out of stock inventory issues on purchased products. Identifies EDI non-compliant vendors and makes decision regarding penalties.
Analyzes reports and metrics, including acknowledgements and ASN error exceptions, with Distribution Center (DC) Operations and suppliers related to controlled substances.
Manages the McKesson E-signature process, including roll-out activities with new vendors.
Section B – General Responsibilities
Maintains relevant business knowledge of product categories and stays abreast of market and industry trends and conditions.
Acts as a McKesson ambassador of corporate values.
Section C – Position Requirements
3-5 years of experience in database and systems management and/ information technology, the majority in a supply chain and procurement management context.
Retail/Wholesale/Life Sciences experience an asset.
Application/database development or programming.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience with VBA, VB.NETKnowledge of SQL 2016, SSRS 2016 & Power BI (asset)
