Job Summary

Reporting to the supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for market development and cosmetic advisor team training in their territory. The Business Development Advisor will ensure compliance with operational standards and a standardized corporate image. Using the management and communication tools, the incumbent will help the branches meet set objectives and ensure that quality customer service is provided in their territory.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a territory of branches, see to the business development and make sure the beauty advisors provide quality customer service.

  • Develop the management and sales skills of the beauty advisors in charge of the cosmetics departments.

  • Ensure cosmetic business practice compliance and protect the value of the Uniprix brand.

  • Introduce new work and advising methods to develop the beauty advisors’ sales skills and knowledge.

  • Monitor the use of management tools and the achievement of weekly sales targets.

  • Propose the necessary action plans to ensure cosmetic department profitability.

  • Make the necessary recommendations to maintain optimal inventory levels.

  • Ensure onboarding and training of new lead beauty advisors.

  • Help implement special programs with assigned companies.

  • Maximize merchandising and sales strategies.

  • Promote promotional and seasonal merchandising strategies.

  • Advise members on the optimal use of their cosmetic sales space based on market trends and target clientele.

  • Provide in-branch coaching training for the advisor teams.

Requirements

  • A university degree or college diploma in administration or marketing, or solid industry experience

  • At least five (5) years’ experience as a representative in the cosmetics industry and expertise in training beauty advisor teams

  • Valid driver's licence and available for frequent travel

  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Familiar with cosmetic product merchandising and promotions

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Functional English and excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Able to handle multiple files at the same time, within tight deadlines

  • Good sense of organization and planning

  • Professional attitude with a customer-oriented approach

  • Dynamic and able to anticipate customer needs

  • Capable of working with other departments

  • Able to work with little supervision

  • Capable of expressing ideas persuasively
