The Financial Services Advisor, reporting to the Head of Finance, is responsible for ensuring that the various analytical tasks and reports are completed accurately and on time. These tasks include meeting with pharmacists to present financial statements, preparing pro-forma financial statements, drafting budgets, tracking pharmacies’ financial situations and producing various financial reports.
Section A – Specific responsibilities
Meet with pharmacists on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis to present financial statements and financial performance indicators.
Conduct the monthly financial statement audit; provide suggestions and propose improvements to pharmacists.
Draft annual budgets, as requested, for pharmacists.
Help pharmacists with various tasks: liquidity management, annual year end, understanding financial statements.
Prepare pro-forma financial statements requested by the bank, pharmacists or the Development team and answer any questions or explain any analyses related to them for transactions as well as refinancing.
Analyze the financial health and growth of pharmacies and produce analysis charts as needed.
Assist with head office projects that have an impact on pharmacies’ financial situations.
Help develop or improve financial procedures and tools as part of a continuous improvement process and ways of doing things.
Propose action plans, with the Operations team, to ensure pharmacy profitability.
Section B – Job requirements
Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role (minimum)
Familiarity with Acomba accounting software (an asset)
Experience with the complete accounting cycle
Excellent command of Excel
Valid driver’s licence and available for frequent travel
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and French
Very good analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent judgment
Autonomous and organized; takes initiative and ensures information confidentiality
Professional attitude with a customer-oriented approach
Team player who can meet deadlines and work under pressure from time to time
Flexibility in terms of scheduling
