Oracle Consulting Technical Director - Utilities Global Business Unit in Quincy, Massachusetts

As an acknowledged authority within Oracle, this senior level consulting position is responsible for creating and implementing innovative solutions with industry-wide impact. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. As a position of technical/professional influence, this individual frequently operates at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies enhancements to Oracle products to meet very complex customer needs. Exercises creativity and independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to deliver functional and technical expertise on a wide range of business and technology solutions. Leads experienced consulting teams on challenging projects; works on significant and unique issues. As a thought leader and trusted advisor, effectively influences difficult decisions at the leadership-level of customer organizations. Enables business development efforts by providing subject matter expertise. Resolves very complex customer escalations. Drives customer process direction and decisions by providing domain leadership within relevant industries on end-to-end enterprise solutions. Creates new solution sets based on assessment of industry needs, market demands and knowledge of competitive product offerings.

10 years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience. Management or team leadership experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to lead large teams. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.

Job Summary:

Senior-level consulting position providing consistent high quality and innovative technical leadership to a project team. Reporting to the Technical Delivery Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for all technical aspects of the Oracle Utilities Application Framework implementations, including product such as MDM, CCB, C2M, MWM and ORS, ensuring the solutions proposed function technically. The Technical Architect develops the technical architecture for the system and is responsible for implementing and leading the overall technical design of the application. The candidate will also be responsible for defining the IT Strategy, and Enterprise Architecture and providing detailed documentation in these areas. The candidate will be responsible for providing the Technical leadership throughout the project implementation and will be interacting with offshore and onshore technical infrastructure consultants, functional teams and testing teams.

Essential Job Functions:

Technical background on Oracle Utilities Applications or J2E applications

Strong leadership and management skills, but able to be hands on when required. A doer.

Coordinate team of offshore and onshore technical architecture consultants

Coordinate interaction between functional and technical teams to ensure efficiency in delivery of enhancements

Ensure that all the Oracle teams and leads are supported in their daily activities

Plan and agree with the Client technical changes, upgrades to the project environment and lower environments: promote Oracle Product best practices whilst understanding Client technical and business requirements adapting them to the Client Solution and internal policies

Communicate effectively with both Client and Oracle senior management as well as the Client leads

Responsible for the planning of the onshore and offshore teams shifts (24/7 application monitoring and support)

Delegates effectively to his directs based on their roles and experience whilst leading and taking ownership of associated activities and tasks.

Assign tasks and activities to his directs based on their roles, experience and time zones with the aim of ensuring the tasks are completed in time without compromising the quality of the delivery

Continuous and open dialogue with the Oracle Release Manager to guarantee that code releases are promoted to all the environments accordingly to the agreed plan

Leads the technical design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations.

Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions.

Provide technical infrastructure leadership of Oracle Utility Solutions to customers incorporating common practices

Possess experience navigating complex client relationships and implementation challenges

Provide engagement delivery services both as an individual and as a team member.

Be responsible for ensuring that a quality, integrated software solution is delivered in a timely manner, at budget, and to our client's satisfaction.

Work closely with the client to understand and manage their expectations, as well as working closely with Oracle and third-party vendors to ensure delivery

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a Senior-level Consultant with a technical background with experience in Oracle Utilities products.

The ideal candidate will:

Have a technical background and be able to demonstrate high level understanding of J2E applications, BI, Database and other related Oracle technology

Have experience in large-scale IT implementations as a technical consultant

Have experience working in a multi-cultural environment

Possess excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills

Be Influential

Be results oriented

Be a technical expert with a UGBU product or technology area

Have knowledge and awareness of Oracle Utilities Applications and other Oracle related technology

Fluent communication (written and spoken) in English with good presentation skills

Ability to travel on a weekly basis is required.

Recognized authority and leading contributor within Technical practice

Minimum of 10 years overall experience in technical role

Prior team leadership or management experience preferred

Strong influencing and negotiation skills

Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus.

Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients

Possess database, core applications and web technology expertise

Specific experience in implementing Oracle Utility solutions and in systems integrations
