IBM is looking for a Microsoft Azure Enterprise Architect whose primary responsibility will be to solution Microsoft Azure Federal offerings integrated with IBM Managed Services for our clients. This is a new business sales support technical position and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, being the subject matter expert on Azure implementations for Azure Virtual Machines, Service Fabric, Resource Manager, Virtual Network, Traffic Manager, Load Balancer, DNS, Container Service, SQL Database, and the integration of those services as well as other Azure Federal offerings. In addition, this SME will interface with the MSCS Federal Infrastructure Managed Services (FIMS) team to ensure managed service capability for clients hosted in the Microsoft Federal cloud. The Azure Enterprise Architect will also interface with senior business leaders within MSCS to ensure our Azure capabilities are aligned to MSCS’ overall cloud strategy, assist in development of marketing materials, and be the technical evangelist supporting IBM’s Go-to-Market and account leaders working directly with potential and existing clients. The Azure Enterprise architect will work across MSCS teams including other architects in support of bid and proposal efforts, engineers in support of new client onboarding and capability development, delivery teams as a tier 3 escalation point of contact, and business leaders to advise on strategy, training, and skill development of our staff.

Responsibilities/experience include:

  • Automating deployment and management of Azure workloads via API, integration tools, or other methods

  • Managed service experience (e.g. performing systems administration, monitoring, NOC/SOC/EOC, Service Desk)

  • Developing detailed technical schedules as input to an overall project schedule

  • Managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills; ability to clearly articulate technical requirements and relate them to business objectives

  • Demonstrated experience operating as a facilitator with excellent verbal and written communications.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Position requires at least 3 - 7 years of experience with the following:

  • MCSD: Azure Solutions Architect

  • Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) for Cloud Platform and Infrastructure

  • Architecting, implementing, and managing environments within Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience needs to include Azure Virtual machines, Resource Manager, Service Fabric, Container Service, SQL Database, Virtual Network, DNS, and Azure Active Directory at a minimum

  • Migrating client workloads into Azure from other clouds (public or private) as well as traditional on-prem solutions

  • Managing client workloads across multiple Azure regions

  • Integrating Azure offerings with other monitoring tools via API Continued in the additional Comments

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • 8570/Security+ certification

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

Preferred 2 or more years of experience with the following:

  • Experience with additional Azure services such as ExpressRoute, SQL Data Warehouse, MFA, RBAC, and Marketplace offerings

  • Experience managing Azure Government and/or Azure DoD Clouds

  • Familiarity with Azure Stack for private cloud • Skills in a formal PM discipline (PMI or other PM accreditation is a plus)

  • Experience with Federal Government contracts, including security compliance guidelines for NIST 800-53 moderate and high impact baselines

  • ITIL V3 Certification preferred

  • Experience working with managed service providers on top of AWS IaaS/PaaS offerings
