We have a very exciting opportunity in Kent for a consultative and driven Account Manager who is ready to take the next steps in their career and take ownership of a number of smaller, global accounts. With the support of more senior team members, you will be responsible for proactively working with your assigned accounts to fully understand their needs and how Cummins can support their business, focusing on driving sales and supporting the global business strategy.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Manage the relationship and business strategies for multiple, small, global accounts (e.g. regional, single business unit, internal customers etc.)

  • Collaborate with more senior colleagues on larger, more complex accounts as and when required.

  • Identify opportunities to promote and cross sell Cummins’ products and services to your existing customers, ensuring that sales goals are achieved in support of sales plans and business strategy

  • Grow and establish positive customer relations. Utilize customer satisfaction tools to measure satisfaction and create action plans for improvement where necessary.

  • Guide and coordinate all communication and interfaces with your customers at appropriate levels.

  • Negotiates and implement contracts including payment terms and accounts receivable deliverables as authorized.

  • Collaborate with production and distribution to identify and prevent potential issues on your accounts.

  • Be the champion for the voice of the customer within the business.

  • Support account strategy and works with key stakeholders in the business to achieve optimum results.

  • Drive Customer Focus Six Sigma initiatives to strengthen relationship with customer.

  • Drive cross business unit account development in support of account strategy.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Preferred:

  • Demonstrable experience in a Customer Relationship or Account Management position is essential to be considered for this opportunity.

  • A background within engineering is required for this position, power generation would be preferred.

  • A consultative, solution based approach to sales and customer service

  • Commercially aware with excellent negotiation skills

  • Natural rapport building skills with a desire to attain a high level of customer satisfaction

  • A creative and dynamic individual with a genuine passion for the industry and the brand, growing the marketshare and increasing Cummins presence.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • An Engineering degree is preferred or relevant work experience within an engineering environment

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary between £40 - £55,200 (DOE)

  • A variable annual bonus of 8%, depending on global performance of the business

  • Private medical insurance for you, your partner and children under 21 years old

  • Pension scheme (up to 7% contributions from Cummins)

  • Healthshield to assist with costs of opticians, dentist, physiotherapist etc

  • 25 days holiday plus stats
