bandwidth, greater network security, less network latency, less network jitter,

reimagining the traditional planning, provisioning, and life cycle by creating

SDN services that allow customers to connect their on-premises networks, data

center networks, and/or other networks via enterprise-grade links to Oracle’s

cloud. Customers can then access dozens

of leading PaaS and IaaS services that span database, Java, integration,

analytics, compute, and storage. At its

core, our SDN services provide customers with rapid configuration, pay-as-you

go pricing, and seamless scalability.

We are looking for a Sr. Manager of Network

Operations for our UK Government regions, with expertise and passion in solving

difficult problems in large-scale, physical network infrastructure. If this is

As a Sr. Manager of Network Operations you

will lead a team of network engineers responsible for the day-to-day management

of OCI’s network servicing Oracle’s UK government customers. Due to

the nature of the space, this role is a “full-service” opportunity, where

duties cover the breadth of Networking disciplines, including engineering,

operations, scaling, and supporting network monitoring and network automation.

In this role you will:

  • Develop & manage a team of highly skillednetwork engineers

  • Establish & report on a body of metrics thatdefine our network availability

  • Drive the network health & availability program,including increasing efficiencies based upon generated metrics

  • Manage and maintain a body of tooling and automationto support the management & maintenance of our cloud network infrastructure

  • Collaborate with Network Engineering, NetworkAutomation, Network Monitoring, and the US Gov Operations Engineeringorganization to deliver a highly-available product to our customers

  • Define and deliver an annual roadmap

  • Advance our incident response, iteratively diminishingthe MTTR for network-related problems

  • Participate in on call rotation for incidentmanagement

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience delivering and operating largescale, highly available network environments (large cloud, ISP, or serviceprovider)

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science,Telecommunications, or related field

  • Experience in data center and/or service providernetwork environments, with a focus on operations

  • Understanding of networking technologies andprotocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.)

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysisexperience

  • Experience managing software development project aplus (but not required)

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
