The Oracle Exadata team is working on a new distributed, multi-tenant cloud service. The team is committed to delivering best of the breed service that meets and exceeds the expectations of our customers who are tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges.
We offer unique opportunities for hands-on technical leaders with expertise and passion to solve difficult problems developing highly available service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
The team is responsible for building the cloud service that will be used by various database services including Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) and Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP). This cloud service is a multi-tenant and fully Autonomous.
The team has the unique opportunity to make significant contributions to the full stack of Oracle technology, from database kernel to cloud service platform and to customer-facing portals. Projects include automation of tenant lifecycle management, autonomous management and tuning, integration with other Oracle services
We are looking for the following in a candidate:
High proficiency in object oriented analysis and design skills (OOA/OOD)
Experience working with IaaS layers such as OCI, Amazon EC2
Understanding of web services technologies such as HTTP, JSON, XML , REST
Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate is a plus
Experienced in Linux scripting, networking and server troubleshooting.
Experience building scalable infrastructure software or distributed systems
Experience working with relational databases. Experience in Oracle deployments a plus
Familiarity with security technologies (SSL, Authentication, OAuth)
Must be comfortable developing for Unix and/or Linux environments
Played a leading role in the design, implementation and deployment of a successful enterprise-level system or cloud platform
Internet and operating system security fundamentals
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills- The desire to work well with others
Knowledge of JavaEE Application servers/Middle-tier such as Weblogic is a plus
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
