The Oracle Corporate Development team is a small, fast-paced, high-performing group responsible for driving operational excellence across the company and for the execution and integration of mergers and acquisitions.

Job Description

The Corporate Development Director will help lead the integration of acquired companies, which includes working across teams as we transition the people, processes and systems to Oracle, eliminate uncertainty around the customer and employee experiences and enable the realization of deal value. The Director’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to working with the diligence team to identify potential business and operational issues with a potential acquisition, managing key integration planning deliverables, and developing financial analyses on and monitoring key integration metrics. In addition, the Director will be responsible for leading reviews with relevant business and integration owners and for driving improvements to the integration process.

This position is based in Redwood City, CA and may include some travel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participate in diligence reviews and lead integration meetings, evaluating key issues and driving integration planning

  • Work with business owners to develop and implement best-in-class integration strategies that enable the fast realization of deal value as well as a delightful employee and customer experiences

  • Manage acquisition integrations, including any issues that arise, from signing of the transaction through employee and system integration

  • Lead integration reviews, develop analyses and reports that include key observations and recommendations and present findings to Oracle management

  • Understand acquired company operations and develop recommendations for incorporating new and differentiating ideas into Oracle’s operations

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • 8 years of progressive experience in project management and 5 years successfully leading the integration of acquired companies

  • Highly proficient in conducting due diligence inquiries, integration reviews and integration reporting

  • Thinking critically and outside the box, while paying very close attention to detail

  • Communicating clearly and eloquently, both in written and oral form

  • Managing multiple projects effectively and efficiently, with a high sense of urgency

  • Working across teams to solve complex problems, often under high-pressure and in time-sensitive scenario

  • Demonstrated deep/expert experience using MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Product or technical experience is a plus

  • Undergraduate degree

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manages and negotiates strategic transactions for Oracle Corporation, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic licensing, minority investments and joint ventures.

Evaluate potential licensing and investment opportunities. Determine/advise on deal structure. Negotiate term sheets and definitive agreements with third parties. Coordinate internal teams consisting of legal, finance, and business representatives to execute deal. Facilitate approval process.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Licensing and/or equity deal negotiation experience. Financial analysis capabilities. Broad understanding of Oracle

  • s products and services. Familiarity with tax and accounting implications of various deal structures.
