Oracle OpenWorld conference we unveiled our next generation of Software as a

Service (SaaS) Cloud offerings called Adaptive Intelligent Apps (AIA). Adaptive

Intelligent Apps are uniquely powered by enormous amounts of digital consumer

and business data from Oracle’s Data Cloud which is a sophisticated decision

science/machine learning, and a scalable cloud infrastructure. Adaptive

Intelligent Apps blends third-party data with real-time analytics and

behavioral inputs to create Cloud Applications that adapt and learn. The

applications will use data from Oracle’s Data Cloud, social media and other

sources to drive automated outcomes in a number of horizontal and vertical application

segments. This is an exciting emerging venture for Oracle, leveraging latest

technology in the mobile, big data and cloud application spaces.

Oracle is seeking an experienced product

manager with deep knowledge of cloud applications to work on the next

generation of data-driven applications. These applications will use the

aggregated data from Oracle’s data cloud, social media and other sources to

drive automated outcomes in a number of horizontal and vertical application segments.

This is an exciting emerging venture for Oracle. Given the greenfield nature of

the opportunity, one of the key roles of the product management function will be

to identify and prioritise capabilities to be delivered and technologies to be

used, as well as provide the subsequent specifications.

Considering that this is an emerging venture within Oracle, successful

candidates must be able to:

  • Define, design and assist inexecution of platform, configuration, and data integration strategy

  • Understand the business advantagesthat new technologies in big data, data mining and mobile delivery canbring

  • Think creatively about what newcapabilities can be delivered – often to business and technical problemswhich may never have had a possible solution before these technologies

  • Work with agile developmenttechniques

  • Appreciate and understand thecloud delivery model and how that drives application delivery anddeployment

  • Work in an environment with asignificant number of unknowns – both technically and functionally inherentin such a new venture

  • Collaborate across a number ofdevelopment teams

  • Work globally in a geographicallydispersed team


  • Duties and tasks are varied andcomplex, needing independent judgment

  • BS or MS degree or equivalentexperience relevant to functional area

  • Demonstrated track record of atleast 15 years of software engineering, product development or productmanagement in enterprise SaaS software or related experience

  • Deep domain knowledge of cloudapplications and/or enterprise software

  • Self-starter, motivated andambitious. Looking to grow in a fast moving organization. Ability towear many different hats and work on multiple deliverables in parallel

  • Great verbal, interpersonal andwritten communication skills and able to present and document ideas in aconcise and articulate manner

  • Strong analytical skills andproblem- solving skills to form a deep understanding of market/customerneeds

  • Ability tothink creatively about how our products can solve business problems whichhave not been possible before

  • Ability to build relationshipsand collaborate successfully outside of authority while leveraging Oracleexpertise and resources

  • Knowledge of machine learning techniquesand algorithms a plus

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred.
