Oracle Principal Business Analyst in Redwood City, California

Provides programs to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance in support of the organization*s financial and tactical business objectives. Provides business practices and processes. Develops, communicates, and trains the organization on business practices and processes.

Serve as a liaison with other divisions such as Finance, Contracts, HR, Legal, Shared Services, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, and Risk Management in an effort to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing. Collect, input, verify, correct, and analyze data to measure key performance indicator actual versus business objectives. Provide updates to management regarding budget to actual, informing them of deviations and opportunities. Provide management with economic impact and compliance issues surrounding key business decisions and/or deals. Communicate Oracle Business Practices to the organization and monitor process and approvals for full compliance. Drive implementation of new processes and procedures.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Ability to collect, organize, and display data in spreadsheet format. Follow-through skills necessary to get information from internal and third parties and have data errors/omissions corrected. For this, relationship management skills strongly desired. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 8 plus years relevant work experience.

Principal Business Analyst

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Data Center Operations team (DCO), the Principal Business Analyst– Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) will be responsible for aspects of project and program management, executive level communications, project reporting and cost savings modeling.

As a member of Oracle's data Center Operations organization, you will assist in consolidation and reporting of project planning, model, analyze, prepare, and summarize information for financial plans, , trended future specifications, etc.; on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. Prepares recommendations based on analyzes. You will perform both large and small scale project and program management, headcount and headcount driven analysis, drafting executive level communications including white papers and formal reporting on project status. You will participate in cross functional programs and project as an individual contributor, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Own planning, design processes, and execution for several teams or drives critical divisional-wide processes and overall execution and delivery for plans and drive execution on plans for improved margins, efficiency, or other business objectives.

  • Be the spokesperson for the team and product division-wide and eloquently and accurately

  • represent the status, issues, plans and roadmap for the team.

  • Develop project plans including leading change management in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

  • Become a trusted advisor for business decisions based on data analysis, cost savings and cost avoidance, forecasting budgets and resources.

  • Participate in ROB activities related to People, Process and Products.

  • Participate and contribute to the planning process to ensure people and financial resource investments are made at the right place, right time, and at the right size.

  • Link business strategy to KPIs, roadmaps and goal setting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years in an operations role.

  • 5 years authoring executive level written communications.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficiency in project tracking.

  • Strong analysis and research skills. Ability to partner across functions.

  • Excellent verbal and writing communicator that can work across a wide range of audience (engineering, finance, program management , operations, etc.).

  • Result oriented. Ability to translate ideas into operational steps and follow through to closure.

  • Takes initiative to achieve value added results and ability to track the progress of multiple inquires and tasks effectively.

  • Ability to drive a culture of using data insights to help drive decision-making

  • Solid grasp of the business side of technology with an understanding and passion for metrics/analysis to deliver on business objectives.

  • Excellent analytic skills, attention to detail. Ability to turn data into Insights.

  • Ability to thrive in an environment with ambiguity and change.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a cross-functional team.

  • Self-directed, proactive with ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to work Pacific Time zone normal business hours

Preferred Qualification:

  • Excellent understanding of cloud and Infrastructure. Experience supporting engineering preferred
