We are building state-of-the art capabilities; engineering systems; support tools and automation instrumentation that will fundamentally revolutionize how 20K developers develop services and how these services are managed, monitored, provisioned, integrated and measured. We are building the platform that will form the foundation of all of manageability instrumentation for Oracle’s Cloud applications and services.
We are looking for a proven, seasoned engineering leader to lead this engineering platform development. You will lead the team that will be chartered with creating engineering systems that developers use for application and service development; service management platform that automates majority of operational activities and analytics instrumentation that provides deep insights into service and customer behavior.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following –
Lead engineering for development engineering systems and service management platform for Oracle’s SaaS apps and services.
Fundamentally invert the man-machine equation in how services are built and managed by maintaining clear pulse on eliminating all human intervention in engineering systems management and service management.
Deliver service, customer and performance monitoring platform for Oracle’s SaaS applications and services.
Define and execute on the service design approach that provides engineering teams the clarity on what service capabilities are built in the service fabric; delivered in the platform team team and owned by our global operations teams.
Build analytics that provides deep insights into engineering efficiency; developer velocity; operational and support efficiency and service quality.
Be an advocate of scalable and extensible, recoverable, manageable architecture for SaaS services.
Strong technical acumen; creativity; interpersonal skills; emotional intelligence.
15 years of cloud / service development /product management experience as a product / program management leader.
Experience working in a matrixed environment with distributed accountabilities and unclear precedents.
Deep understanding of the service development, orchestration, release, source control and workflow management eco-systems.
Deep understanding of operational bottlenecks; service monitoring eco-systems; service provisioning; recoverability and manageability challenges.
Proven track record of delivering scalable, global, efficient and reliable software services.
Broad understanding of various cloud development technologies and trends; developer preferences and challenges.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture.
Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
