Tax Manager, Canada & Latin America Compliance

Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for Canada and Latin America region income tax compliance/provision related tasks, which include:

  • Compile and consolidate monthly income tax account reconciliation

  • Prepare foreign tax packs

  • Compile and consolidate quarterly tax questionnaires for tax implications

  • Manage Canada and Latin America Income tax compliance (including filing of income tax return/related party information return/estimate tax payment/income tax provision for statutory filing ) by working with external tax consultants and internal business units

  • Prepare return to provision true up and reconcile income tax payable/deferred tax asset balance of foreign countries

  • Compute FIN 48 Reserves and prepare the quarterly FIN48 schedule

  • Assist in local income tax audit

  • Other compliance or provision related tasks

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in tax compliance for Latin America countries/Canada

  • Big 4 public accounting experience and or tax compliance experience in big multinational company

  • The position is in Redwood Shores, California

  • At least 4 years in a tax role of this type either from corporate within a large multinational corporation or public practice (Big 4 or 2nd tier) or mixture

  • CA/CPA preferred

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Strong analytical skills and eye for details

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure

  • Ability to communicate with multi-national teams and have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Compiles information for statutory reports as well as internal tax reporting. Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.

Be an integral partner in Oracle's business decisions to enhance shareholder value by providing tax-related advice globally to all business units. Assist with governmental audits, internal audits and/or fiscal recharges. Ensure company complies with worldwide statutory tax reporting specifications. Focus areas include transfer pricing and intercompany transactions. identify international assignment tax issues for employees working in another country. Develop strategies to minimize corporate tax through use of tax laws and regulations. May be involved with tax implications of mergers and acquisitions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Maintain current knowledge of all tax laws affecting Oracle. Detail oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. 8 plus years experience in public accounting firm and/or high technology industry. CPA and or MS/MBA tax preferred.
