You are the lead agile coach driving an agile transformation of a worldwide product organization of +400 developers, offering managers, designers, testers, and information developers. You have led other successful agile transformations, and you are experienced in coaching leaders as well as development squads. You work with our Agile Center of Excellence to roll out the right training from our training curriculum, adapt the training to the needs of your target organization, and you do hands-on coaching of each product organization. You are passionate about agile practices and working with both leadership and teams to help them translate agile text books and training to the organizational behaviors that lead to the best results. You are comfortable working with agile teams a few years down the journey as well as teams just starting their journey, including teams developing complex systems with 99.999% uptime. You have experience rolling out Scrum teams as well as how to make Agile Scale using frameworks such as SAFe, and you are excited to work on how to combine such frameworks with IBM Design Thinking. You will report directly to the executive in charge of the product organization, and you have a fully committed management team.
Close to 50% of our development organization is in RTP, NC, with other key development centers including Toronto, Beijing, UK, Germany and Bucharest. Our strong preference is placement in RTP, NC, with 25-50% of travel to coach development teams around the world. You will share coaching with at least one other experienced coach, and you are expected to build up a network of agile champions across our product organization to ensure a sustainable transformation. As these champions become effective, your travel is expected to go down. In addition, we want you to facilitate the growth of the agile leaders/change agents within our squads through mentoring, education, and hands-on learning.

Identify gaps and pain points with key stakeholders & leadership, define their "to-be state" and then work with leadership to effectively cascade that vision throughout the organization, getting buy-in from the teams.
Ability to relate to, motivate, and inspire a broad organizational demographic ranging from college new hires to 30+ year career employees.
You understand how to apply agile in non-trivial situations and understand how to tailor your approach even when dealing with obscure languages where no open source or commercial test exist.
While we have teams responsible for a state-of-the art CI/CD pipeline, you understand development and test using Jenkins, Git, Artefactory, and other industry-standard tooling.
Apply and implement industry best practices across the organization with measurable KPIs.
Work with teams to adopt organizational strategies to drive agility and implement practices to create self-organizing teams that work towards a consistent set of business priorities and outcomes.
Implement a feedback structure to drive continuous improvement and refinements through regular and effective retrospective sessions.
Familiar with collaboration tools such as Aha, Trello, GitHub Issues, IBM Rational Team Concert, and Jira.
Use writing and social media skills to communicate both internally and externally about our journey. Our customers look for us to lead them and show a path to deliver innovative software in an agile manner.
You are a part of the leadership team of a very sizable organization with great financial responsibilities. You understand the value an agile transformation can have on a product organization, and you can effectively work with the leadership team to ensure we make the right trade-offs on our journey.
