Job Description

The Cyber Security Systems Administration is responsible for identifying system security vulnerabilities and designs or deploys solutions that support a high availability system and enhances security compliance baselines using COTS and GOTS enterprise level cyber security tools and applications. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you must be able to work independently or lead teams to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, risk assessments, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for computer security products and systems.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Understanding and identifying new vulnerabilities and attack vectors to actively hunt for threats across multiple networks

  • Collaborating with clients regarding the nature of the systems vulnerabilities and delivering recommended remediation steps

  • Ability to use various COTS and custom platforms to gather security statistic to proactively scan the enterprise for malware

  • Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

  • Testing and monitoring computer systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems

  • Analyzing and studying complex system requirements

  • Applying the Concept of Operations (CONOPs) set of disciplines for the planning, analysis, design, construction, and operation of information systems across a major sector of the organization

  • Developing analytical and computational techniques and methodology for problem solutions

  • Assisting in establishing standards for information security systems procedures

  • Operating and maintaining CSOC’s standalone LAN

  • LAN/WAN configurations

You will have experience with the following:

  • Ability to think in a logical manner

  • Work experience in a secure telecommunications network environment

  • Basic understanding of IT fundamentals

  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 2000, XP, NT)

  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of organizational communications, communication methods, organizational message flow, formal writing style, and an in-depth knowledge of common terminology and acronyms

  • Excellent customer relations, professional, and able to demonstrate a knowledge of interpersonal communications skills

  • Ability and confidence to professionally represent the branch through public speaking

  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and hardware functions (switches, routers, servers, etc.), troubleshooting, and pinging devices

  • Working knowledge of networking

  • Working knowledge of network topologies

  • Working knowledge of systems administration

You will have one of the following:

  • 6 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma

  • 4 Years of job related experience and Associate degree

  • 2-3 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree

  • 1 Year of job related experience and Master’s degree

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • Systems Administration

  • Networking

  • Familiarity with cyber security and computer network defense topics

  • Experience with the operations and on-going responsibilities of a Security Operations Center (SOC).

  • Network+ Certification

  • Security+ Certification
