Architect team, throughout the sales cycle, you will provide technical and
functional leadership to the sales team in the exciting development and
implementation of customer applications and products. Here you will use your
technical and business savvy to drive solution opportunities, architecture
discussions and develop programs to enhance customer experience. You will also
work directly with the most interesting and demanding customers to understand
their requirements and turn them into reality.
Working hand in hand with our
sales teams and other solution architects, you would help deliver the finest
solutions based on our MySQL in-the-cloud and on-premise database offerings.
Your in-depth technical background in databases would help customers understand
how to improve their businesses using the right database services. Your
excellent verbal and written communication skills will allow you build sales
enablement tools, evangelize our platform with our enterprise customers,
start-ups and valued partners.
The ideal candidate will
possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and
interact at the C level, as well as a technical background that enables them to
easily interact with software developers, database administrators and
architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think
strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical
challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions,
and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership,
drive, and interpersonal skills is a must.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Serve as a key member of the MySQLCloud Computing Solutions Architects team focused on helping to drive overallMySQL market and technical strategy.
Educate specific prospects/partnersby positioning our value proposition for their business and use case.
Engage with prospects, partners,and key customers on PoC, Health Checks and onsite visits.
Work closely with our sales team toensure they are successful using our tools and programs, and that they havetechnical resources and knowledge required for moving forward withopportunities.
Understand the technicalrequirements of our customers and work closely with the internal productmanagement team to guide the direction of our product offerings for customers.
Handle a high volume of engagementsand the fast pace of the cloud computing market.
Experience with account management(Enterprise, SMB and startup) and solution selling ability.
Strong database technical knowledgewith ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate betweenvaried database approaches (relational, non-relational, in-memory, datawarehousing, etc.)
Strong verbal and writtencommunications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills. Demonstratedability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key.
This person will be technical andanalytical, and possess significant business development, enterprise sales, orprogram/product management experience.
Computer Science or Engineeringrequired.
Experience working with MySQL,Oracle, PostgreSQL and AWS databases.
MBA, Computer Science, and/orEngineering/Math background highly desired; working knowledge of databaseadministration, software development practices and data center / infrastructure/ networking technologies highly desired.
Experience working and travelingindependently
Experience with public speaking /conferences /meetups
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.
As a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships.
Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.
