V. Job Functions 1. Administers Physical Therapy programs according to each patients age as planned and directed by a licensed Physical Therapist. 2. Accompanies PT during first treatment of patient and assists PT as needed to carry out treatment plan. 3. Communicates with other appropriate health personnel with regard to patient's progress, needs, and discharge planning. 4. Assists in the meeting, greeting and monitoring of fitness clients. 5. Reads, understands, and complies with all established hospital and department policies and procedures as outlined in department manuals. 6. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with patients, physicians and hospital personnel. 7. Accurately performs required daily documentation related to patient care and department operations as needed. 8. Assist hospital personnel when necessary. 9. Ensure patient's rights and privacy. 10. Assume responsibility for billing, ordering supplies, and cleaning the department. 11. Follow and know the function use,maintenance, and safety precautions for all department equipment. 12. Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement studies as requested. 13. Attend approved outside seminars, inservices and give department/hospital inservices on new knowledge or as requested. 14. Participates in student training programs as requested by supervisor. 15. Participates in new employee/volunteer orientation. 16. Demonstrates and supports department and hospital philosophy, goals, and objectives. Education: Graduate of an approved School of Physical Therapy Assistants. Licensure: Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Experience: Satisfactorily completed three clinical affiliations. Excellent oral/written communication skills. Exhibits empathy and compassion for families, patients and personnel in a professional setting. Receptive to patient education skills. Must have good listening skills. Ability to work within a team environment
