Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.
As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

As a Technical Pre-Sales Consultant for Oracle Apps Tech - Sales Engineer (Demo Engineering Sales Consultant), you will work as a member of a pre-sales team to solve business and technical problems for prospective clients and customers. You will uncover and understand demonstration goals laid out by the field SE team and work with them along with product management and demo services/provisioning teams and collaborative to come up with the best possible solution/configuration based on business and technology requirements of the clients. The location for the position is based in Austin TX, Santa Monica, CA, or Burlington, MA Hubs.
Detailed Job Requirements
Project manage end to end build cycle for customer demonstrations and proof of concepts. Work and communicate with different stakeholders including Oracle Product Management teams, Advanced Technologists, Oracle Demo Engineers, Oracle Demo Services teams, and Field Solution Engineers to ensure smooth and flawless demo execution.
Design and implement extensions in Oracle Cloud Applications to address non-standard customer requirements to demonstrate product capabilities beyond the delivered capability to showcase the value of the Oracle Cloud platform.
Help field SE teams and be present during demonstration dry runs and make sure demonstrations and demo environments are meeting execution goals. This will involve working with multiple divisions within Oracle and with implementation partners to achieve a common goal of delivering a high-quality demonstration with minimum disruption.
Responsibilities would include, ensuring and maintaining the accuracy of demo instances. Ensuring smooth functioning of SE defined end to end demo flows. Making sure integration points and single sign-on across applications are working in accordance with the demo requirements. Ensuring data accuracy and data flow across applications.
Responsibilities will also include performing performance testing, regression testing, and ensuring backward and forward compatibility with Oracle and in some cases non-Oracle solutions as per demand from specific customer demonstrations.
Create and maintain reusable technical assets and documentation to be shared among the ecosystem.
Maintain proper archival of demonstration assets and develop documentation for re-use.
Maintain up to date knowledge of supported products and solutions and advise field SE teams on newly released features/functions.
Demonstrate leadership abilities and superior communication skills.
Working Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle Process Cloud, Oracle Visual Builder Cloud Service, or other competing technologies of similar function and programming skills will be an added benefit.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Prefer 7-10 years’ experience in a related field.
Prefer background in Oracle Cloud applications
Skilled in understanding requirements and working independently
Inquisitive, self-motivated and able to work under pressure
Enthusiastic and confident
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to discuss cross-functional/cross-domain issues with pillar SE’s.
