The Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy software packages in a cloud environment using a combination of custom open source and off-the-shelf software packages and a variety of data types (structured unstructured non-text). They will work to develop and enhance mission applications and tools web and portal systems and/or knowledge and content management capabilities. The developer will work as part of an Agile scrum team to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical tasks. They will enhance software functionality based on rapidly evolving mission needs and technology opportunities and advise the Solutions Architect.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Active TS/SCI clearance + CI Polygraph

  • Knowledge of JVM languages/ technologies including Java

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Ruby on Rails, Pentaho, Spark, Python, Perl, Hadoop, ReactJS, SQL, PLSQL, ElasticSearch ,SOLR

  • Experience with databases SQL or NoSQL

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering computer science or related technical field or equivalent experience

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience with database software installation and maintenance

  • Experience with MapReduce and clustering

  • Experience with Oracle DB2 Mongo Postgres

  • Experience with SOLR ElasticSearch

  • Experience with monitoring and management software (e.g. Splunk Nagios HP/Dell/ Hitachi)

  • Experience developing software and deploying hardware with a specialty in automating the production and deployment of software in a large enterprise.
