CACI International Systems Engineer - Virtualized Hosting in Reston, Virginia
What You’ll Get to Do:
Join our team as a Virtualized Hosting Systems Engineer who will build out a corporate virtual information processing environment utilizing VMware ESXi. As a Systems Engineer, you will provide Tier 3 support, as well as identify systems integrity issues and solutions for the full systems life cycle from concept to disposal.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
Performing technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems
Ensuring designs are compatible with the architecture and allocates requirements to segments
Analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems
Reviewing computer systems capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations
Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Providing staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems
Testing, maintaining, and monitoring computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems
Conferring with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs a computer program is to address
Consulting with management to ensure agreement on systems principles
Expanding or modifying systems to serve new purposes or improve workflow
Analyzing and studying complex systems requirements
Applying the concept of operations set of disciplines for the planning, analysis, design, and construction of information systems across a major sector of the organization
Performing strategic systems planning, business information planning, business, and analysis
Applying business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles, as well as business process modernization projects
Applying, as appropriate activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control and risk analysis and modern business methods, and performance measurement techniques
Assisting in establishing standards for information systems procedures
Other duties, as assigned
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Must possess experience with middleware technologies
Must possess significant experience with VMware ESXi version 6.0 and higher (e.g., 6.5 and 6.7)
Must possess experience and/or knowledge managing storage clusters in a VMware environment
Experience in PowerShell scripting
Working knowledge of standard and distributed switches
Working knowledge of Cluster Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) and Storage DRS
May analyze or recommend commercially available software
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
vRealize Operations Manager (vRops) and XML knowledge is a plus
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies is a plus
Some experience utilizing JIRA is a plus
Candidate must have one of the following:
12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
10 Years of job related experience and Associate’s degree
8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
6 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
4 Years of job related experience and Doctorate
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
