What you’ll be doing...
As a Core Equipment Engineering (CEE) engineer for iEN, MSE, Unified Transport, CPA, IDN, Private IP, Public IP, and Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP) networks within GEEI supporting the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) you will be
Creating the detail engineering designs for technologies associated with Verizon’s IP, Ethernet, and Cloud networks including Routing, Gateways, Aggregators, and Nodes.
Engineering detailed, often complex, technical instructions (I-SPECs) for new and existing technologies, and order equipment/cables/hardware.
Coordinating project-specific installation designs, physical installations, engineering database (ICON, CCP,) updates, equipment configurations, card/port assignments/requirements, power mapping, cable running lists, floor space and rack placement, and detailed Bill of Material (BOM).
Facilitating/interfacing with Operations and other Implementation Organizations to obtain critical pre-engineering information, site specific data as well as redlines and other end-of-job information.
Ensuring that all engineering documentation (including ICON, Venue and CCP) is accurate and up-to-date for use by Install, Test, Implementation, Operations, Provisioning, and Planning, Network Capacity Management, and Audit groups.
Duties and responsibilities also include high performance, high quality, and on-time work.
Leading First Office Applications (FOA) projects for new, often complex technologies, and providing engineering support when and where needed.
Managing multiple, sometime complex, projects; provide timely reporting; and effectively coordinate with Planning, Vendor Technical Management, and Program Management organizations.
Leading project efforts as well as completing the following tasks: managing conference calls, email communications, documenting/drawing creation and extensive record keeping.
Working independently while also helping others and escalating when needed.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field/work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Seven or more years of experience with focus in the areas of Telecom Engineering or Network Implementation. Extensive understanding for IP, Ethernet, and Cloud of network, equipment designs, and configuration procedures for a range of products and network types.
Demonstrated strong technical and project management capabilities as well as excellent PC and software application skills including Windows and MS Office needed.
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organizational communications.
