Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance job family is responsible for planning, scheduling, and organizing the efficient maintenance, operation and performance of work assignments. Coordinates with various departments to achieve optimum utilization of operations and maintenance resources to effectively achieve production improvements through usage of industry standard methodologies.

This position will support Work Execution by coordinating, expediting, and communicating the status of material requisition and subcontract activities needed to support continued startup testing, commissioning, and operation of DFLAW systems. Specifically, this position will serve as the main point of contact for high priority procurements and act as an expeditor across the functions involved in identifying required materials, generating and approving material requisitions, and purchasing, receiving, and staging material for use.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control and supervision of WTCC.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Provide direct support to Maintenance in expediting parts and material needed for emergent plant work

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

  • Maintain current training, certification and development requirements.

  • Ensuring Material Service Order Forms (MSOFs) are generated promptly following submission of a high priority Work Requests by Startup, Commissioning, or Operations.

  • Ensuring high priority MSOFs are submitted to Plant Eng. (PENG) for review immediately following creation.

  • Ensuring that material requisitions (e.g. SCRs) are generated and approved promptly following PENG approval of high priority MSOFs.

  • Interfacing with Field Purchasing and to obtain status of Bid/Evaluate/Award cycle and delivery ETAs, communicate priorities, and provide status to Project Controls.

  • Interfacing with Receiving, Inspection, and Testing (RI&T) to provide status of material reciept completion to appropriate functional task owners and management.

  • Interfacing with Field Material Management to provide status of Material Withdrawal (MWR) completion to appropriate functional task owners and management.

  • Report status of material procurement lifecycle to supervision and managmenet

  • Communicating material availability to Maintenance Execution and Material Control functions following MWR completion.

  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment.

  • Assist with annual and quarterly inventories

AECOM has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world’s largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE’s most technically challenging cleanup projects—equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory.

Minimum Requirements

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree business, engineering, construction management, economics and 2 years’ experience with maintenance, procurement, subcontracts, construction, etc. Possess the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and influence without authority. Knowledge of a variety of operating activities such as purchasing, materials, scheduling, task hazard identification/controls, preventive and corrective maintenance.

OR

Associates degree in business, engineering, construction management, economics and 4 years’ experience with maintenance, procurement, subcontracts, construction, etc. Possess the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and influence without authority. Knowledge of a variety of operating activities such as purchasing, materials, scheduling, task hazard identification/controls, preventive and corrective maintenance.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience with maintenance, procurement, subcontracts, construction, training, mentoring, annual and quarterly inventories, interface with vendors and customers both internally and externally, knowledge of shipping/receiving processes, etc. Possess the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and influence without authority. Knowledge of a variety of operating activities such as purchasing, materials, scheduling, task hazard identification/controls, preventive and corrective maintenance.

Preferred:

Material/Project Management/Procurement experience in the DOE / ISMS / VPP /Commercial Nuclear/ Commercial Industrial environment.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4x10 schedule, M-TH, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
