Job Summary


The Operations Planning Supervisor is a first line supervisor position in an operations organization assigned to supervise the development and maintenance of an integrated working schedule. Supervise planning, estimating, and logistical support for Operations execution. Under minimal direction, the Operations Planning Supervisor ensures complex technical planning and administrative assignments are completed within budgets and schedules. This includes Coordinating technical and administrative activities under the direction of LAW/Lab operations management supporting operations planning and logistics. This position’s primary focus are activities that get the LBL facilities ready to operate (include, planning for transition to the project testing phase, and operation of the facility for testing purposes). May be assigned activities to support completion of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) efforts.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control and supervision of WTCC.


The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise activities and programs for transition to the project testing phase, and operation of the facility for testing purposes. This position will also support activities to further the completion of the EPC portion of the project.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

  • Supervise development and manage operations work planning/scheduling to support work execution.

  • Queries responsible parties to identify operations resource requirements and logistics in order to develop operations schedules.

  • Coordinates with schedulers and project controls engineers to develop and status schedules

  • Creates estimate tools and reports supporting cost basis and budgeting activities.

  • Provides technical and administrative support to Plant Operations

  • Develop trends and performance metrics for LBL Plant Operations schedule

  • Completes required project training within allotted time.

  • Reflects nuclear safety and quality priorities in the performance of work.

  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

EPC Responsibilities:

  • Manage integrated schedules with project controls

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Superviseand direct planners in their day to day work

  • Develop and implement metrics related to schedule performance

  • Reporting schedule performance to management


(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual

AECOM has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world’s largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE’s most technically challenging cleanup projects—equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory.

Minimum Requirements


Education: Associates degree in sciences or equivalent technical training

Experience: 8 years of experience in planning or operations logistics support required. Facility start-up/commissioning experience strongly desired. Strong computer skills required, including spreadsheet and database development and use. Proficient in using Oracle Primavera P6 creating and maintaining resource loaded schedules.

Safety Trained Supervisor Certification preferred. If not certified, need to have ability to become a Safety Trained Supervisor within 1 year.

Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship
