Responsible for the development and execution of product category strategies focused on revenue and margin growth for assigned product category portfolios. Manages vendor/supplier relationships. Assesses financial state, supplier performance, product mix, and market growth opportunities of categories to formulate overall strategic plan of action. Clearly communicates category strategy within organization with intent of influencing and gaining agreement among key constituents. Develops tactical plans to execute on strategy and manages projects as needed to deliver intended results. Conducts negotiations with vendors to form contract terms and conditions that align to long-range category strategy. Builds and leverages relationships with external suppliers as well as private brand, marketing and sales, legal/pricing/contracts, and inventory management teams. Work involves significant analysis to identify financial profit levers for long-range product category growth.
8 years experience in areas such as product management, purchasing, marketing/sales, and or finance
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Solid knowledge of company's products/services, excellent interpersonal skills, written/verbal skills, ability to collect and analyze data. Thorough understanding of supply chain operations and financial profitability levers. Manage multiple projects requiring frequent comm, organ, time management, and problem solving. Financial acumen and analytics. Marketing analytics/supply chain proj management. Planning, cost reduction, contract negotiations. Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical plans/influence adoption of prescribed actions. Strong interpersonal and influential skills; ability to interact at various levels of the organization. Building strategic relationships with suppliers. Influencing, Presentation, Relationship Management. Leadership in a matrix organization with the ability to communicate ideas to stakeholders and senior decision-makers. Visionary thinking to generate alternatives and innovative solutions; creation of risk/benefit analysis on formulated ideas.
4-year degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
