Our ER is also a state-authorized Level II trauma center and we offer Central Virginia’s only Pediatric ER staffed 24/7 by pediatric-trained ER nurse and physician specialists.
The Patient Safety Observer (PSO) role is a position providing real-time monitoring and support to the patient care team by providing heightened observation of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevention of injury.
Provides services to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Verbally redirect those patients who have been identified as being high risk for fall, confused, or patients at risk for injury and require enhanced patient safety.
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and in accordance with department policies and procedures, responsible for keeping the patient in his/her line of site and working with others on the healthcare team to provide prompt intervention to prevent physical harm to patients ensuring optimal patient safety and comfort.
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
High school graduate or GED Equivalent (required)
Licensed as a Nursing Assistant in the state of Virginia (required) EXPERIENCE:
Direct patient care experience (required)
Minimum 1 year acute care experience (preferred) HOURS:
72 hours every pay period (every two weeks)
