Occupational Health Office Location and Hours:

The position is located in the Medical Office Buildings adjacent to and behind Chippenham Hospital, one of the two HCA facilities that make up CJW Medical Center. The schedule for this position is PRN, with hours between Monday and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

As a RN in Occupation Health you will participate in and be responsible for the following: * Overall daily function/staffing of the Occupational Health Clinic. * Professional development to prepare for additional responsibilities and improve current job performance via educational meetings, independent study and maintaining appropriate certification. * Assist with departmental CQI program, outcomes management projects and other hospital initiatives. * Conduct thorough and complete orientation of all incoming personnel, utilizing the department orientation plan and ensuring all aspects are completed during the orientation process. * Coordinate and implement educational programs for the clinical advancement of occupational health staff as required. * Work in conjunction with Occupational Health Service line for coordination of services, utilization management, outcomes management and education planning. * Act as facilitator to interdisciplinary team meetings focused on achieving a purposeful and controlled connection between quality care and the cost of care. * Promote collaborative practices among various hospital staff and physicians. Serve as liaison between physicians and hospital * Evaluate educational needs of staff and assist in the development plans to meet those identified needs. * Utilize expertise in area of specialization to provide consultation services to health care providers and customers. * Assist in assuring that appropriate standards of care, practice and performance, and policy and procedures are in place. * Demonstrate professional growth and leadership through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations. * Participate in and understand continuous quality improvement activities such as JC and CMS core measures. Education: * Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program (required) * BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred) Licensure/Certifications: * Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a Registered Nurse (required) * American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required) * ACLS certification (required) Experience: * Minimum one (1) year of experience as a staff nurse in the delivery of Occupational Medicine (required) * Five (5) years of experience dedicated to the provision of Occupational Medicine (preferred) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Current knowledge of laws and regulations that govern occupational and environmental health and safety. * Medical knowledge of techniques and information needed to treat human injuries/illnesses. * Customer and personal service knowledge including needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction. * Knowledge of employer specific equipment, including computer software. * Monitoring to make improvements or take corrective action. * Knowledge of human behavior and performance. * Time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. * Computer literacy, ability to work with computerized systems and applications. * Ability to work independently, demonstrating judgment and decision-making skills. * Ability to effectively communicate information to supervisors, peers, or customers, including excellent written and verbal communication skills * Problem sensitivity. * * HCA Rewards:
