Job Description:

The Operations Support Engineer reports to the Operations Excellence Manager and is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of the daily and month-end oil, gas and water allocations. This is accomplished by having a strong working knowledge of the Asset being supported, how Energy Components works and continued surveillance of the incoming data.

Main responsibilities include:

The collation and analysis of data. This will be achieved by maintaining and validating, reporting and improving the quality of product flow data including deferments; injection and waste disposal streams; from the well bore through to the integrated production system (IPS) to the custody transfer point of a company, asset or sub-asset.

  • A smooth interface between the Production Operations and other departments supporting the Operations Manager and Asset Integration Lead by owning the Material Take Off process and overseeing the Incident Action Plan stability.

The successful staffing and execution of this role will also support the building and improvement of core Production Programming skills and competencies.


Deferment Management

  • Validating and ensuring the accuracy of deferment coding.

  • Completing deferment analysis to a deep level on a regular frequency.

  • Ensuring there is a focus on action, closing the loop through progressing actions, through a functioning Surveillance process.

  • Providing quality information and analysis in support of ORIP (Operational Reliability and Integrity Improvement Process).

  • Ensuring the insight developed is fed into a more accurate forecasting process.

Hydrocarbon Allocation

  • Validating and improving the quality of input data.

  • Run and monitor the daily and monthly Allocation Figures, investigating anomalies and raising metering failures when applicable.

  • Monitoring Reconciliation Factor.

  • Highlighting metering errors.

  • Ensuring these actuals are feedback into forecasting/planning process.

  • Ensuring SOX compliance.

  • Ensuring conductance and cadence of internal audits to ensure accuracy of allocations and regulatory compliance

Planning and Forecasting

  • Monitoring and providing Production Reliability and Availability assumptions.

  • Ensure the accuracy of the Short-Term Forecast and provide input and validation to the medium to long term forecast.

  • Review all production impacting activities and ensuring Integrated Activity plans reflect this.

  • Optimising very short term and short term IAPS plan to minimize deferment and identify sheltering opportunities.

  • Through these activities above, playing a key role in fulfilling field data requirements and validation.

Regulatory Support to Production Operations

  • Execute Production Regulatory Activities supporting the assets to maintain the license to Operate.

  • Expertise in Regulations applicable to production operations, ensuring compliance with legislation at all times and raising flags when compliance is at risk.

  • Technical expertise in operations/regulatory in order to judge activities that could have legal implications or infractions.

  • Support ANP Audit process, including when offshore.

  • Ensure relationship with ANP personnel is well managed and act fast when issues arises.
