Position Summary: Works under the direction of the Supervisor. Performs a variety of housekeeping services necessary to ensure a clean, safe hospital. Reports To: Environmental Services Manager/Supervisor Supervises: None

Position Requirements: Education:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Experience:

  • A minimum of one-year of housekeeping experience, preferably within a Hospital setting. Special Qualifications:

  • Capable of working independently, setting priorities, and being flexible.

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

  • Possesses a thorough understanding of flooring surfaces and their maintenance. To include stripping, scrubbing and refinishing of floors, carpet shampooing & extracting.

  • Must be able to perform all cleaning duties of an EVS Assistant.

  • Must be able to move arms above the head, lift, and push housekeeping equipment.

  • Must be able to work with disinfectants and other cleaning chemicals according to procedures on a daily basis.

  • Must be able to climb ladders of up to six feet.

  • Must be able to use housekeeping equipment such as floor machines, compactors, and medical waste processors.
