Basic Functions Responsible for daily operations of the Communications & Electronics Section (CES) in providing Direct Support/General Support level maintenance for COMMEL/navigational equipment installed in Contractor and OPM vehicles, or at fixed site locations, throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

A. Duties/responsibilities:

  1. Supervises all radio communication repair support to the Office of the Program Manager (OPM) and Vinnell Arabia.

  2. Supervises the repair priorities and assigns workload and tasking for the Communications and Electronics Section.

  3. Provide radio communication usage advice to the Branch Manager, MRC.

  4. Perform final inspection of work produced by CES; determine cause of substandard work and ensure necessary corrections.

  5. Coordinates/ensures necessary repair parts and materials are available prior to work entering the repair facility or prior to contact teams deploy to provide field level on-site maintenance.

  6. Ensures safety procedures and precautions are followed. Prepares a variety of required reports and records.

  7. Receipts and accounts for all property allocated to CES from OPM or Vinnell Arabia.

  8. Responsible for the quality of service or product in-process under the management, in accordance with approved plans, SOP, and standards

  9. Assists the Branch Manager, MRC in developing maintenance programs for OPM and Vinnell Arabia; provides assistance as required.

  10. On call 24-hours to provide radio communication repair support.

B. Independence: Acts under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, MRC. Performs to most extent under own responsibility.

C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Four (4) personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

A. Education Level: Two (2) years college preferred. U.S. military Signal/Electronic technical training. An equivalent combination of college level courses, military training and job site experience may be substituted.

B. Experience: Six (6) years supervisory experience in industrial/military electronic maintenance. Technical training in electronics and maintenance management procedures; minimum of three years proven ability at jobsite may be substituted for some listed qualifications.

C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability, requirements: Knowledge of test equipment and tools used in the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of communications systems and other associated electronic equipment. Knowledge of the functional use of a variety of equipment, specifically; GE and Ericsson mobile radios, Harris HF radio systems, and a variety of Motorola products including; mobile/portable radios, base stations, repeaters, digital encryption, and programming. Knowledgeable of antenna systems and their proper installation and maintenance. Knowledge of electronics blueprints, schematics, and drawings. Ability to use English language technical manuals, supply catalogs, and supply requisitioning software, such as MAXIMO. Must possess a valid driving license.
