Basic Functions ​Responsible for providing assistance on installation, boresighting, testing and turn in of MILES Equipment. Provide training to the SANG units on employment and integration of MILES equipment. Assist in the development of force-on-force training programs that include simulators, simulations and devices-based LAV gunnery exercises, and unit operational procedures. Assists with the fielding and training of MILES equipment. Leads a contact team, which provides installation/repair/replacement services for MILES equipment to SANG units in the cantonment area and in the field.

Major Duties and Responsibilities ​A. Duties/responsibilities:

  1. Provides advice, assistance and evaluation to units in the utilization of MILES equipment during Post Net, LAV gunnery and all tactical training.

  2. Provides advice and assistance to SANG units and NGMS instructors on the use of MILES equipment.

  3. Provides training and evaluation during training sessions with SANG, crews and platoons while training with MILES equipment.

  4. Serves on a contact team to assist units with the installation and employment of MILES equipment and conduct daily field visits to provide training assistance and to troubleshoot and repair/replace inoperable components of MILES equipment.

  5. Provides Coaching and Assistance to NGMS on the Precision Gunnery Training System.

  6. Performs duties as Simulators/Simulations instructor.

  7. Performs other mission and administrative duties as assigned.

B. Independence: Works under the supervision of the Supervisor, MILES Operations.

Minimum Qualifications ​A. Education Level: High School Graduate. Graduate of a basic level U.S. Military service school, advanced level desirable. Bradley/armor Master Gunner Course graduate preferred.

B. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of training experience in a U.S. armor, cavalry, or mechanized infantry battalion/brigade. Three years experience as an armor/cavalry/mechanized infantry platoon sergeant desirable. Hands-on experience in use of armor/Bradley simulators, MILES equipment and training devices.

C. Specific Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements: Knowledgeable of current tactics, training and intelligence doctrine. Knowledgeable of Bradley/Tank gunnery training programs and gunnery training simulators and devices. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing, read and understand technical and training manuals. Must have the ability to deal effectively with people. Proficient in MS Office Professional software.

D. Other Specific Requirements: Former Noncommissioned Officer or Officer. Possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
